Opinion: A compact 6.0 MegaPixels with a great battery life! Good metal body. Easy to use with some manual controls. Good pictures and colors. Usefull Anti-shake DSP. Unlimited movie recording in high quality (640x480, 30 fps). Shutterspeed: 60(!) - 1/2000 sec. Quick start. Quick Auto Focus. Nice picture in a low light situation, especially with manual twist. With all those great features, the EX-Z110 comes in a quite crisp price, compared with other brands in equal features & quality. I'm very satisfied so far.
If it's noisy in high ISO, well, all pocket cameras are (if you want great pictures in high ISO, buy DSLR!) Don't worry, with a little learning on the manual control you can manage a good picture.
Problems: • Needs more manual control.
• Incomplete manual book, but you can find the complete version in the CD (.pdf file).
Opinion: The Casio Exilim Z110 is the best value in a compact digital camera I've seen or used to date. It is so simple to use with it's numerous auto exposure modes and full manual setting. The "Best Shots" mode is so simple anybody that is "tech challenged" can understand how to take good pictures. It uses SD memory and AA batteries - cheap and easy - I get about 150 shots on a set of 2300 mAh NiMH AA's. It is slightly thicker than other Casio Exilim cameras but only because of the battery size. I've made 18x24 prints for this 6 meg camera and they look excellent. For anyone owning a digital SLR and know quality images, this camera makes an excellent pocket sized point and shoot for those times you want to travel lite . It is a bargin at well under $300.
Problems: None so far.
Opinion: Good value for money.
Price is surprisingly low in our place compared to comparable models like CAnon A510/A520 and Sony DSC-90. Easy to use enough for beginners (like my mom) but have manual controls to delight geeks. The manual controls for me is what makes this model rock!. For example, shutter speed can range from 1/2000th of a sec to 60 seconds!. Night sky photos i've taken was really good, but i have to buy a small portable tripod.
Another good feature is the best shot mode. Aside from the 28 pre-configured settings, i can store my own pre-configured settings.
Not that small but small enough to fit nicely in my hands, controls can be easily accessed by thumb and forefinger.
Readily available power supply (two AA size)
Very good shots from macro mode to wide angle modes. I sometimes play around with the pictures pretending that this camera is a digital microscope. ;-).
the autofocus is good enough, but if it ain't enuf for geeks, this baby have: pan focus, infinity focus, macro focus and MANUAL FOCUS.
enough of that. Why I'm really satisfied with this camera (my second, my first was a kodak cx): 1. manual controls (aperture, ISO, exposure, shutter speed). 2. 6 megapix 3. almost unlimited video 4. good, sharp pictures 5. small enough 6. low price
Problems: The anti-shake DSP is quite useless at low light conditions because of the noise generated. It is useful only at brightly lit subjects especially with the zoom function fully extended.
High ISO sensitivity settings also generate lots of noise.
The video is quite slow in some computers with poor video cards.
The LCD display gets washed out under bright day light. Most of the time I have to find a shade just to review my shots.
Opinion: I HAVE HAD MY Z110 FOR 1 WEEK NOW AND AM IMPRESSED WITH WHAT IT IS ABLE TO DO . fOR ONLY $A370, 6MP, JUST FANTASTIC. OUTDOOR SHOTS VERY CLEAR, INDOOR HAVE BEEN USING DIFFERENT ITEMS AND ZOOMING IN TO READ THE LETTERS ON THE CAN OR BOTTLE. vERY IMPRESSED WITH THE DIGITAL ZOOM ON TOP OF THE OPTICAL, THEN ZOOM IN AGAIN ON PLAYBACK. vERY HAPPY. WATCHED A PLAYBACK ON TV , SO EASY TO DO , AND REALLY CAPTURES THE MOMENT. MY PREVIOUS CAMERA WAS THE CASIO EXLIM-M1,1.3MP...2MP. ANOTHER POINT WAS THE VOICEOVER ON ANY SNAP ,GREAT IDEA.AM CURRENTLY TESTING THE BS ,BEST SHOTS, TO SEE WHICH ARE BETTER TO USE IN WHICH CONDITIONS. THIS MAY TAKE AWHILE.
Problems: NO, THE INCLUDED BATTERIES ONLY LASTED 75 SHOTS, THE RE-CHARG NIMH HAVE TAKEN 440 AND ARE STILL GOING.
