Paid only £159.99 from Amazon. I was slightly worried after reading some of the reviews about the hit and miss on lens quality and problems with playing the video files on PCs. It seems all my worries are gone. The camera is simply brilliant for a point and shoot and the quality excllent. So far not observed anything but a slight distortion in the bottom left and right corners of the photos. But I brought this as a point and shoot that my wife can keep in her handbag all the time. Videos ...

The camera construction is excellent and quick and easy to use. Even though it lacks the capability of shutter or aperature adjustments, it makes up in the BEST SHOT feature. Over 30 pre-programmed settings to cover any situation. The controls are well placed, and the camera is comfortable to hold. Even a real novice will find this camera easy to use and will be taking great photos right out of the box. I purchased it for it's size and was pleasantly surprised with it's capabilities. You ...

I just bought this camera and took it on vacation. I was generally very impressed with its performance given its small size. We also had a 6MP Canon DSLR with us. In comparison, the lens on the S600 is not good enough to give you true 6MP, especially when zoomed all the way in. However for a camera this size it was very impressive and in my opinion better than the Sony T-9 I tried earlier. The best: - very quick startup. The motorized lens extends quickly enough that it's not a hindrance - ...

I am a fans of Canon. But when I choose a DC with mpeg4 , I am forced to choose another one. For neither of Canon can take mpeg4. S600's mpeg4 movie is great. 1G SD card can take 1 hour movie. This is why I choose this DC and it's really good. And S600 is cheaper than any other DC which can take mpeg4, and it's much cheaper than a DV.

The camera is very solid. The software is very easy to use. Problems: Whe you take a photo you have to select: - Auto If you select Auto you can set many options but not the more importants two: Aperture range and shutter speed!! - Best Shot If you select Best Shot you have to choose betwen a variety of situations and match the one more similar your rieal situation. More that 20 preset appear great but i usualy don't match the correct preset. For some preset is impossible to change some ...

If you want the smallest camera this is your ticket. Why? Let's compare it to the competition: Sony T-series. Slowest shutter is only 2 seconds, bad for night shots. Slow lens. Annoying slider cover. Worse battery life than S600. MPEG VX Fine consumes 1GB every 12 minutes! Expensive Pro Duo cards. Verdict: inferior camera. Canon Ixus series. Boring featureless cameras. Movie mode consumes 1GB every 8 minutes! Very poor battery life. Verdict: vastly inferior Pentax ultracompacts. No past movie ...

I like this "pocket" camera. I use to bring it with me any time, for two reasons: 1) it is easy to use, nice images, long life battery, etc. 2) it can be considered like a "second" camera when you want to use the most professional one (Canon, Nikon, Leica, etc etc.), surely it does not "disfigure". Perhaps some buttons position could be improved, like that one related to movie. Problems: None so far. If any, I will inform you.

Tested it against Sony DSC-T9 and Sony DSC-N1. Against DSC-N1 in hand held indoor shooting situations, the S600 had a much higher chance of capturing the photo right - less blurred photos. Biggest problem with the N1 is its inability to expose correctly in low light. You can hardly see what you are shooting in the LCD. If you were to brighten up the screen using "+2 EV", the highlights end up being overblown so that no detail is captured in bright areas. No real difference in resolution ...

I have had the camera now for about 8 weeks and simply love it. The main good points are in my eyes: + The size, obviously. I had to almost revise my "as small as possible" policy. Well, only almost. It is however so slim that it really is easy to drop. I read a post here somewhere mentioning the same and really did not believe it. After having dropped the camera twice in on the first two days (on carpet and while kneeling already), I put the wrist strap on and implemented a "it’s wonderfully ...

First off, this company was great in terms of customer service!!!! (www.techtoysforless.com) Price was fantastic and I was able to get my camera within 2 days (mainly cause the are located near my work). As for the camera and accessories.. The camera: Pros: It's amazing that it has soooo many features. - I don't see much difference between this and the EX-750 or EX-Z120 (other than the MP's) feature wise - Fast to turn on and off - Lens maybe noisy, but I like to hear the lens moving when I ...
