Opinion: gave it 4 stars , bought this yesterday second hand in near mint condition , the fiirst impressions look very nice and yes i bought it for the high speed and the super zoom abilities (just optical) .

Still having to learn it , but the menu is very easy aand i like the firm grip that the camera has , no camera is 100% perfect but heck not even i am every day .. and i like that it hasd aa size batteries since they are so wide spread availeable at almost any place on the world

camera will be used outside the most as a ideal second holiday camera light and still very powerfull , i deliberatly took a model that has not the highes mega pixel rating because i do not believe that hype less is more

and to those that ask if it is far to compaire a delr of 10mp with a P&S of 9.1 i say no, because sensoer size is important for the picture too

heck i love it so much that i hope to be able to use it soon

Problems: none

read reviews befroe you buy, try it out it felt good is good a 149 euro is a nice price seconhand for a above 600 $ camera ..

Opinion: Count t all together what you get for that price and then don’t forget that all cams with such an extended range suffer from some losses in image quality, don’t forget why you bought it – the high speed and I hope you will agree – we had no choice and I for my part don’t regret the buy.
To rate it 8 times with 1 star (making the whole rating system obsolete) as Rhoden did, doesn’t help other users.
I’ll try to compensate that as far as possible.

Problems: What I am really missing is a

lens thread,
aperture priority
shutter priority
and most of all (and it would be so easy to implement that feature…) a
remote control

For me aperture priority and shutter priority are a must and a lens thread would be helpful

Opinion: Bought this camera in May and have not stopped getting
amazed by its capabilities. Use it lot for action
photography (Golf) and high speed video>
Gives extremely good video results at 210 fps during
daytime. High speed video is quite useless at night, but it
really scores on 40fps still shoots.
Gives surprisingly good results for closeups in macro mode.
Excellent camera for daylight work

Problems: Auto White Balance at night does not give good results.
Workaround is to put it on manual and set the white
balance before shoots - then it is perfect.

Opinion: Price was significantly higher than other super-zooms but feature set was unmatched. The ultra-high (1000 fps) mode isn't that useful but great results at 210 fps with enough light. Image quality not best in class but for most shots and uses adequate, 9MP RAW+JPG available. Zoom range, from 26mm eq. wide-angle to 20x is excellent. The "time-freeze" and pre-run prior to shutter push of up to 40 fps at 7MP quality gives opportunities to catch the perfect shot instant.

Problems: Too easy to accidentally change focus mode to macro w/ left hand holding body. Even in correct non-macro mode, sometimes auto-focus just won't lock the first couple of tries; workaround is to set manual focus with handy full-res focus aid, which works fine for autosports. Camera eats batteries so always keep extra sets charged (4xAA).

Opinion: The camera has some unique features that make it
stand out of the crowd.
It has every feature you can ever thing of, and a few
more to boot.
The high speed video is quite unique, and as a fun
factor the camera gets a 5 out of 5.
Picture quality is just average, however with that kind
of zoom range you can't really expect excellence.
Overall a fun camera with an extremely useful zoom
range, good for holiday snaps and to have a bit of fun.
Now that street iroce has gone down it's also good
value for money.

Problems: None so far.
