I'm looking for kit advice for an upcoming trip to the Utah "Mighty 5" parks this summer.  This is a father/son trip, and both of us are new to landscape photography.  My kit has been historically biased towards sports photography (kids, not pros).  Since this is a first-time trip, I'm looking to supplement my kit with mostly rental instead of purchase. I also have no problem renting a better version of what I already have if it is worth it. We will be on a general tour (not photo-centric) so...

I'm probably just doing something really stupid here, but I'm having an issue using an 7dmk2 (fw 1.04) and my 580ex flash in Tv mode with ETTL. I can't find any reference to it it the manual. It keeps overriding my chosen speed setting. I use autoiso but using flash the camera then defaults to iso400, which is fine (normal) In Manual mode, I can set the speed from 1/30 up to 1/250 and aperature and iso to whatever I want. Flash power is adjusted accordingly in ETTL. No problem. In Program...

Hello, First the question and then the reasoning. Using the 7D. Which of these two lenses will refocus faster at f/8 from say 6 feet to 15 feet and back again. (1.5-5 meters.) I am shooting manual, spot focus, ISO 320 most of the time in bright daylight. From actual experience would you also hazard a guess how much faster the one lens is than the other? 300mm f/4.0L and 55-250 STM are the lenses. The reason I am asking this. I recently purchased the 7D and am presently using the 55-250STM...

I do understand that the 7D Mark II does not utilize the UHS-II however I'm curious as to the performance of the Lexar 1000x UHS-II in the 7D Mark II.  What is the actual maximum write speed of the 7D Mark II for the SD card slot?

I have four genuine Canon LP-E6 batteries that all show one red bar for battery recharge performance - i think this is bad news. I've always let my batteries completely discharge and then fully charged them, but wonder if this is the best pay to maintain optimum performance of camera batteries ? With my Mac Book and iPhone i've read you're supposed to recharge at 20% and only run it down to 0% once a month. What's the best way to get the most from my Canon batteries ? Is there any difference...

So, awhile ago I lost my Canon 7D battery charger. I was desperate at the time so I ordered a 3rd party charger from ebay - big mistake!I've now found my Canon charger but when I charge it, it goes to 100% but when I use it it drains in about 20 minutes of use. The battery appears to be broken from that stupid cheap piece of crap I bought. Is there any way to reset the battery, is the battery completely knackered? Thanks in advance.Leon.

In September I will be in Colorado to take photos of C&TS narrow gage railroad.  Specifically, I will be shooting a moving train. I would appreciate a little guidance.  I have shot a card full of photos of stationary items. I believe I know how to operate the camera.  Before the 7DII I had a 60D.   I would appreciate help in setting up the AF. The train will be between 200 feet and 1,000 feet away and moving at about 20 mph.  I would like to take a series of shots so I don't need to be spot...

Greetings, For a project related to highway traffic, we would like to employ an APS-C size Canon DSLR; preferably of higher-end, capable of continuous shooting (at least 5-6 frames) at about 4 fps. Please note that 3 fps or 5 fps shooting would not match with our strobe lighting, so around 4 fps is a must. I have Canon 7D and its continuous drive is not adjustable (either 3 or 8 fps). How about the 7DII, is it adjustable? can the drive be set to 4fps?  Thank you. Regards, Bob  --BobYIL
