I am testing a 7D with 600EX-RT and YN-E3-RT. The units communicate correctly, however, I can only get a weak flash attached to 7D. I have tried many flash settings to no avail. Ironically the setup works fine with my Canon XSi. I updated the YN-E3-RT firmware to v1.20 and the 7D firmware to 2.0.5 and still same problem.
Ive had my 7DM2 body about a year now and noticed every so often the body freezes and locks up after a shot. I need to shut it off and turn it back on in order for it to function again. I also notice when looking through the viewfinder the exposure level indicator on the right side sometimes disappears. Anybody other 7DM2 body owners experiencing these problems? Any known fix, remedy or whats the cause? Im using the current version firmware.
Does setting TS at a low value (-2 or -1) slow down the AF speed and reduce AF accuracy? See below images and associated info. The center AF point was on the bird. But the image is not sharp. I set focus priority for the 1st and 2nd shots. When a bird flies back and I try to lock focus at the bird, I can see that it is quite slow to focus lock on the bird. With the center AF point on the bird, it takes quite a while for the 7DII to lock AF on the bird. How do I debug? Thanks. Output...
If someone could please help me out here: After taking a picture with my 7dmk2 i cannot change the postion of the AF point in the viewfinder with the joystick or expand the focus point with the lever anymore. This happens immediately after the resulting picture disappears from the rear LCD. Just before that moment it still works (moves around) normally. Then only after I first half press the shutter release button or the 'set' button can I move it around again and expand the AF point again....
I currently have a 7D and a 7DmkII. My most critical shooting is sports, although I certainly shoot plenty of other things as well ("general" shooting, landscapes, and such). The mkII is so overwhelmingly better than the 7D in AF, high ISO, and general responsiveness that I rarely use the 7D, which really doesn't deliver for basketball. This forces me into compromises; I have to stick with either my 17-55 or 70-200, and one end of the court or the other gets the short end of the stick.I'm not...
I'm going to Costa Rica in a week, looking to bring a second body in addition to my 6D. I'm debating the 5ds or the 7d mk ii. My photography style will be close focus wide angle and macro of reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. Probably a few shots of birds and monkeys. What would be the better body? No need for fast frame rate. Any input on the better body for the application?
The EOS 7D (Mark I) that I bought used 2 years ago appears to have died. First there was an indication of "battery empty" although the battery was recharged just recently. When I changed the batteries, it showed an Eorror message "Err" in its top display, and expect for a picture count of "40", no other indicators. I then tried to restart the camera. I switched it off, took out the battery for a minute - to no avail. The Error message on the top display appeared as soon as I inserted any of...
