I have a Nissin Di866 flash for my 7D & 5D2. I have been using the pop-up flash on the 7D, but with the 5D2 not having one, I need to put my Nissin to work. I find the online instructions a bit difficult to understand & as I have never used this kind of flash, I would appreciate any help you can give in explaining things to me in simple terms if possible. There are 6 Icons on the screen when I start it up. I have been using one called "MAN/AV". The power graduations I understand, but what...

Y'all helped out so much in the past, I thought I'd try to get some help here again.  I've been trying to get to a point to where I can take good sharp pics with my new EOS 7Dmkii.  I received the mkii on around November 1st - got it at Best Buy.  Still have my 7D classic.  Mostly I shoot children sporting events - football, softball, basketball, and volleyball.  But over the past couple of days I've been trying to make a few "family" activity shots with my 7Dmkii.  Specifically, I've been...

I'm retiring next year, and would to start wildlife photography. I've a canon 7D and a 70-300L zoom, but would like a prime. So, 'though I've got the 300 end with the "zoom" covered,( 'though only at 5.6 ) would I be better with the 300 F4+ 1.4 extender or the 400 F5.6. Any help would be much appreciated.

Although I purchased a 7D shortly after it came on the market, I noticed something today for the first time while taking some inside shots with my Sigma 10-20mm f4/5.6 lens.  I was shooting on a tripod with the camera in aperture priority mode and the aperture set at f13 for maximum depth of field.  My camera was set on evaluative metering.  What I noticed was a significant difference in the exposure duration when in live view as opposed to when shooting conventionally.  For example, when in...

Good day! I decided to buy 6D as addition to my 7D however I hope for some advice about lenses setup. Currently I have: 1. Canon EF 70-200 f4L IS USM 2. Canon EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM 3. Sigma 8-16mm F4.5-5.6 DC HSM 4. Sigma 30mm F1.4 EX DC HSM I am going to keep my 7D as a backup camera and 6D will be used mainly for general purpose and landscape. For my 6D I was planning to get Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM which would come nicely with 70-200 I already have but also I could leave 24-70...

Hi all, DSLR newbie here and I'm having trouble with my Canon 7D. I didn't even realize it was a problem.. just thought I was totally inept at handling the camera! But while trying to reset to factory settings, I discovered that my camera doesn't display the "clear all settings" option for some odd reason! What am I doing wrong? HELP! Thank you.

These two cameras are like new and I have about 15 days to return 1 or both= -Sony a5000 for $239 -Sony RX100 II for $396 I used the a5000 on a recent trip to the Alps/Munich in Germany and the pictures were just, ehh. I was using the stock lens. What I like is the flip-up screen and the fact that you can use different lenses but have not tried any yet. Last week I was in Spain with my EOS M and 50mm 1.4 and loved the photos that came out of it, really sharp. Since I got that one for less...

A few years ago I used this site to help me decide on what my first digital camera and lenses would be.  Terrific site and terrific help!  I spent months researching and ultimately wound up with a Canon 7D, 50mm 1.4 standard lense, a Tamron 75-300 DVC Zoom and a Tamron 1:4 Macro.  This year for Christmas I'd like to treat myself to a low aperture zoom (the kind that comes with the kits), a fish eye, and a extra wide angle.    I really don't wanna spend months researching on the above.  So,...
