Hi all im new to this great site and forum. I have been out of the "game" of photography for over 7 years and im coming back for a serious hobby. I'm reteaching myself the fundamentals of still photography with an eye on switching over to videography in about 6 months or so. I was cruising amazon 3 weeks ago and checked the warehouse deals and saw a NX30 openbox In great condition for $330 backed with the iron clad amazon 30 day return policy. The price was way lower than anywhere else on the...
My 70D seems to not always focus consistently, especially at wide angle. Using a 15-85mm lens with focus scale. Place camera on a tripod, aim at a subject with plenty of contrast in bright light and sharp edges running vertical and even horizontal. Use center focus point. Focus and check scale. Focus several more times. Some attempts will be the same and others are noticeably different and probably incorrrect. The error is always varying amounts of front focus. Live view is always the same....
Hi, I'm still looking for a camera which I will use for making artistic short films/Time lapses/Photography/UltraWide Photography and video (I'm a complete beginner) At first I was thinking about canon 70d, but people are saying to get something else. So what is a best choice? I remind: 4k is not necessary, all i need is SHARP SHARP image/video quality, I will focus manually and I want to use my old canon lens that i have used on my 450d by the way I find canon lens to be the cheapest and...

Hey everyone! Quick question and advice request. I recently bought a pair of Yongnuo RF-603C II flash triggers to use along side my 70D. I had predicted I may need to upgrade the flash that I currently have, which is the Neewer TT560. My problem now is, I can actually trigger the flash with the RF-603, and I can also trigger the shutter on my 70D, but I can't trigger the flash with my camera (using the RF-603). Am I doing something wrong? Or am I correct in that they're not compatible with...
Hello, I am a total newbie in photographing. I was searching for a month to buy a proper camera. I am very into landscape photographing as well. Let me list my options : Nikon d7200 Nikon d610 Canon 70d Actually I wanted to get Canon 70d, because of its good autofocusing but just I saw that it received bad points of image quality(especially at low light etc..) from most of the review websites. Is it really that bad? Please help me to decide.
I'm trying to understand this camera and am confused by the many AF modes and why you would need to select different AF points. Seems like there are two situations to cover. For a stationary subject, focus using the center single-point (or flexi-single, in live view), then focus-lock, recompose and shoot. For moving subjects, focus using the center zone or 19-pt auto AF (or face-track or flexi-multi in live view), then follow the subject using AI-servo focusing and shoot. Wouldn't that...
Hi Guys, Need your expert advice about buying a Canon 24-70 F4 lens. since have already a Sigma 24-105 F4 Art lens. the results are very good but it's heavy and takes me a lot of thought before travelling with this lens. so I was considering the Canon 24-70 F4 lens for portraits and as a general zoom lens. so my question 1-is the Canon 24-70 better for portraits than the sigma 24-105 art? 2- which is it lighter Canon 24-70 or the 24-105? 3- is my purchase adding value lens wise? thanks for...
I like to have a GPS on my Canon 70d, but the solution from Canon (gps e2) is too expensive for me. I really want a solution that writes the GPS information direct on the Raw file. A solution with a cheap tracker that uses external software to sync the GPS with the pictures is not acceptable for me. Does some one know a cheaper, non Canon solution?
