I recently encountered this problem. It was working fine previously but since coming back from vacation I can only import video/jpeg files from my 70D but not the CR2 files. To get them I have to use Canon's EOS utility and then import them to Lightroom. I'm hoping it's just a setting somewhere that I changed inadvertently. Anyone experience something similar and figure it out? --http://www.flickr.com/photos/pritzl/

Hello all Just got a 70D a few weeks back. Actually pretty much brand new in the photography thing. So, I dont know much about the camera. Does this "sensor cleaning" thing that happens when I switch the camera on and off obviate the need to get the job done professionally? Cheers - Ray

Hi, first time using this site. Usually use Yahoo Answers but recently the people that respond prefer to be keyboard warriors and put people down rather than actually help and just answer the question. I'm thinking about getting a Canon 70D. I'm new to photography but have done a lot of video stuff on a Sony Nex-5. (I know they're both photo cameras and not great for video, i should just get a camcorder blah blah blah. I had a camcorder and prefer the look and feel of these, and a lot of...

I am considering an upgrade to 70D from 1000D this year. I have Tamron 17-50 non-IS as a walk around lens and 50mm 1.4 . If anyone would like to share there positive and negative user experiences using the 70D  + Tamron 17-50 combination. So far I have really enjoyed this lens and would like to keep it. Thanks,-Joydeep

Hello,I know that some users have reported focusing issues using the central AF point with fast lenses on the 70D. I am interested in buying this camera (debating vs. the D7100) but these issues freak me out, especially since I want to buy fast lenses in the future. So I have a question (suggestion for owners to try): In Custom Function II there is an option called Tracking Sensitivity. Does moving the slider to "Locked on" improve focus accuracy?

Hi, I am looking to buy a Canon 70D. I am planning to buy just the body and add lenses to it. What would be the best options to start with. I am a beginner and I would be initally using it for video, portait and landscape photography. I am having a baby soon and would be using the cam a lot for shooting the new one. Do let me know if I should get a standard kit or just get the body and buy additional lenses. I am planning to buy this in a week or two max. Also would like to have recomendation...

I shipped the Bigmos back to b&h yesterday. Hopefully they'll find it in sufficiently good condition. Now........ what should I buy instead? a 2nd gen Bigma, which might be just a minor upgrade from the Bigmos ($1600) a DA* 300/4 and TC ($2000) a Canon 400/5.6 L and a 70D, or maybe just a Rebel, to put behind it ($2500) a 2nd gen Sony 70-400 and a SLT, or NEX + adapter, to put behind it ($3000) a Sigma 500/4.5 ($5000) a DA 560/5.6 ($7000, but starting to drop in some markets) a 1.7x AFA with...

Hi, my current DSLR setup consists of a Canon EOS 600D with the lenses Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS IICanon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS IICanon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Overall I'm quite satisfied with what I can do so far. The problematic areas are lowlight photography and everything with fast movements (e.g. birds or rabbits, none of the lenses are really fast in autofocus). In the future I want to experience more with astrophotography and landscape pictures. What upgrade options do I have to get a...
