I just bought a 70D + EF-S 17-55 and am trying to get the configuration sorted out. On my old T2i I had cranked up the in camera sharpness to 5 and was satisfied with the jpeg results - on the 70D I can see more black & white lines/noise at this setting (obviously it's different) when zoomed in over 100% on DPP (this wasn't visible with the T2i) plus I used to be able to set RAW files to max sharpness on DPP without seeing any of these marks - now not so. I prefer to do as little...
I’d like to know which Canon is the least expensive that would do “well” at keeping focus on a moving subject while I am zooming at a slow/moderate rate.I currently capture moments at my son’s HS football games with a Nikon D7100 & 80-200mm f/2.8D ED on a monopod. The dual-pixel AF technology introduced in the 70D has sparked my interest in Canon, though I am not presuming that the 70D is the solution. I’ve gained an understanding so far(so I think, anyway) about how truly parfocal lenses...
Hi folks. I want to get into photography as a hobby, mostly for textures/designs in nature because that is what I love looking at when I look at photos (also the amazing portraits of of people with really weathered and/or wrinkly faces). I do not know if I would go macro or not, but insects are pretty freakin' cool to me. I also need a camera for doing studio pictures for future handouts/book material. Video abilities for posting presentations (mostly) on my website would be great but I...
Moving up a little in my photography just ordered me a new 70D Cannon. I am looking for a few new lenses also. I have done a few small weddings for some friends, now people are wanting me to do more weddings. I need better lenses than a kit lense, I have rented but want to buy but I really don't know what I need. I want to be able to stand back several feet and still get great shots of the bride and groom, any suggestions.
Hello. I would like to know what are my best options for a travel lens in EF-S mode that will have image stabilization and would reach from 18mm to around 135-200mm. I was thinking about Canon (18-135 & 18-200), Sigma and Tamron lenses. What I need is the best available image quality mostly at ~18mm up to portrait focal length as the longer mm are not so important. As all of them provide good results at the center, my choice will be based on edge/corner blur as well as IS performance. Price...
Hello all, I am hoping someone could give me some direction. I consider myself an amateur/beginner. The pictures on my profile were taken with the Panasonic Lumix (not sure exact model, don't have it with me here in Afghanistan, pretty sure its the DMC-FZ50) I bought in 2006. I am currently looking to upgrade, and am mainly focused on landscape/sunrise and sunset photography. Budget isn't too much of an issue. I am currently looking at getting the Canon EOS 70D. Would this be a suitable...
