I'm planning to buy a used DSLR. I'll be shooting a fair amount of video, which should look pretty nice, as well as taking photos. I'm new to photography and will be using it mainly for pictures and video interviews to be used on websites I build/maintain. I've done quite a bit of research to figure out what would suite my needs but wanted to reach out to see what people much more savvy than I think. Since I'm looking to save money on the purchase I'm trying to find a bundle through...
Hi everyone, I bought a Canon 70D recently to replace my 650D in October. The funny thing is, I'm finding the camera's phase detection AF to seem to be somewhat less reliable than my 650D. In low light, it seems to soft focus more often, and even when I'm shooting in good light, there's always a few shots that didn't turn out critically focused. I mean, I understand focus errors happen regardless, but is it normal that I have around 1 shot in about 20 that doesn't focus correctly? I find that...
I am happy to admit that I am merely an amateur photographer. As it's Black Friday and I am going to South Africa for a safari in a few weeks, I thought it would be sensible to make sure I had a few more memory cards. There seems to be a lot of discussion over 32GB SD cards and little on 64GB. I have a Canon 650D and can't find any documentation about a maximum memory size that is supported.Am I missing something? Do you prefer 32 for some reason? Thanks in advance.
Apologies for the long story, but I thought I’d put in all the details, as I’ve been thinking about it for a while and I’m just going in circles. I’m thinking of upgrading to a Canon 70D or possibly 700D/650D, if it makes more sense for me. I currently own a Canon 50D and Canon 5D mk1 paired with EF 85mm 1.8. I used to have a EF-S 24mm 2.8, which I sold with the aim of buying the EF 28mm f2.8 IS. In my mind, the two lenses will give me all the flexibility I need: 135mm – APS-C + 85mm 1.8 85mm...
Hi All,I'm having an issue with my Tamron 200-500. I bought the lens used in June of 2014, and got a year and out of it before I started having an issue with the connection to the camera.I'll attach the lens, and the camera will tell me it's not connecting, so I'll clean the contacts, and it'll work. It happened a few times in June (connected to my 650D) and, but connected right after I cleaned it, it worked seamlessly in July and today I was on a walkabout in a wildlife reserve, and of...
Although this question's been asked before (I'm a relative newcomer to DSLR photography – please don't bite!), I wondered if the release of DPP4 and the updates to Lightroom CC/6 might mean the answer has changed since even last year. Would you advise that a complete novice learn the basics of RAW processing with DPP (and perhaps even stay with it permanently) or move straight to Lightroom? I've been using a Canon 650D/T4i for the last two years or so and, although I've been shooting in RAW,...
Hey everyone. I purchased a Canon EOS 650 a while back along with a Yongnou 50mm 1.8 lens and I wanted to try and use the two together since the prime was EF mount. I loaded a brand new battery in and cleaned the contacts on both the camera and lens and I got the dreaded "bc" error. Funny thing is, when I used other Canon EF lenses with the camera it worked perfectly. The seller told me that it was in good condition and worked when he used it. Also I bought the lens brand new and works with...
