Hi, I'm wondering if it's possible to set the Canon T4i image size so that I'm better (more quickly) able to crop it to an 8 x 10? Currently the image size is: 5184 x 3456 pixels. I'd like to set it to: 3000 x 2400 pixels IF I can get the same quality of shot. Thanks for any insight!Lonnie

Going on my first trip to China; taking my new Canon t4i. I have 3 lenses but don't want to carry all 3. I have a canon 50mm 1.8, Canon 18-55, and a Tamron 70-300. Any suggestions which to take. I am thinking the 18-55 and the 70-300.

All, I'm setting up a DIY photo booth, one-time only, and I'd like to light it as inexpensively as possible. I'd really appreciate your DIY, cheap, CHEAP lighting hacks to make the photos a little better. The "booth" will be open air (no actual booth) with props and a backdrop. I'm using a Canon t4i, a touch screen laptop with photo booth software and an attached printer. The booth will not be manned. I can work all the equipment and functionality out, so I really just need help with...

Hi there :-D! So, I've spent the past few days getting familiar with my friend's hand-me-down DSLR and am now looking to purchase my own as this one does not offer the video capabilities I'm after. I guess I'll be going for the t5i since the t4i I was hoping to get is either unavailable or even more expensive than the t5i. Now, I thought aperture was confusing at first but it's got nothing on lenses! As I've gathered from multiple google searches and browsing this forum a bit, it seems most...

I recently was given a Canon 70-300 1.4/5.6 ISA USM by a friend who said it only locks on focus 50% of the time.  I use this lens on my Canon t4i. Depending how you look at it, I've been blessed, or cursed, with a chance to photograph bald eagles at distances varying from 20 yards to 300 yards. :-D  I'm posting pics to show what my results have been.  :-x   These birds are surprisingly quick for their size and when the action happens I'm not quick enough to get everything right.  I have...

Hi guys, I recently sold my first APS-C camera and bought myself a second hand 5D, the intention being that it would be a bit of fun experimenting with that plus my 50mm but it would only be a compliment to my 650d/t4i. However, since buying the 5D the t4i has hardly left the cupboard (although this isn't the point of the thread so I'll move on) I took plunge and bought myself the 24-105L and although my better half kind of seems to uunderstand, she certainly doesn't understand why I now...

I have a couple questions: I'm being a press photography for Elon Men's Basketball vs Davidson tonight at Elon University. What are some suggested settings I should use to shoot the action? What are some suggested settings I should use to shoot the pre game intros? (everything is dark except a spot light on the players.) What are some suggested settings I should use to shoot the fans and people in the crowd?  I know these are some very specific questions and that most of the settings I end...

OK, so I lent my camera to a member of my family who unfortunately had an accident, it dropped about 3 feet onto a tiled (concrete) floor, the sd card port door snapped although it still seems to close with part of it missing. However, no life in the camera at all. Cannot hear any rattles from inside, when lens is removed no obvious sign of damage. Before I send this in, wonder if anyone had a similar experience and their outcome. Is it possible that fitting a new door would do the trick or is...
