Hello, I'm in search of a new camera and I've been reading reviews, researching the last couple of weeks. I would like some advice since I know there are people on here who have way more experience and knowledge about photography than I do. The choice is daunting to say the least. There are so many models, types etc not to mention all the different lenses. Some background: I'm relatively new to photography. First DSLR I bought was back in 2011 Nikon D40 with 18-200mm (it was stolen in...

Hi All, I am quite beginner to the Photography. I am using Canon T4i with 18-55mm and 50-250mm kit lenses. My question is, what would be a good replacement for my kit lenses, as I feel its quite annoying to change the lenses every time to adjust the zoom? I mostly shoot nature, people and gatherings. I have seen that there are some 18-200 and 18-250mm lenses from different manufactures. I am looking for some advises to pick the right one. Thank you, - Jay

A few days ago, I posted a question about filter holders in the Beginners Questions forum, and a member suggested I might be best to post a copy in the Canon SLR Lens forum, too, as many members had a great deal of experience with rectangular filter and holders. I've copied my original post below - I'd be really grateful if I could ask for some advice with filters and filter holders for two Canon 58mm lenses, please? Several years ago, I purchased a few Cokin P-series filters for a Panasonic...

I'd be really grateful if I could ask for some advice with filters and filter holders, please? Several years ago, I purchased a few Cokin P-series filters for a Panasonic DMC-FZ20 bridge camera. However, around two years ago, I purchased my very first DSLR, a Canon 650D/Rebel T4i. I've recently begun looking into purchasing an ND graduated filter, but at the same time, was hoping to begin using my old filters once again - in particular the circular polariser. As I've been reading around, I've...

I took a few shots of the last super-moon we had but, due to the lack of an available tripod (long story) the results were less than impressive.  What it did show was that my current Sigma 18-250mm lens doesn't really have the reach to get a good detailed shot of the moon.   With the next super-moon coming up on the 9th (which I will have my tripod back for), I have a small budget of around £100 (which I might be able to stretch a little) to see if I can improve the situation.  So I was...

Hey all, I've been looking around, because I've been quite frustrated with my burst shot speeds. I'm shooting a lot of wildlife lately, and using burst shots, because I catch a lot of raptors/large aquatic birds where I live. I typically shoot in RAW, because I like to have the ability to extensively adjust the levels in my images. The main reason for this is that you can set your camera for the appropriate settings for your surroundings, but animals are unpredictable and love shadows and...

This is my first post here, even been around for a couple years. I'm here to ask for help to decide which Canon camera body deserves my investment. I'm a amateur photographer seen the things getting a bit serious. I'm starting to make some money with photography, mostly working as second photographer for a pro. In this cases, I use Nikon system (D700 plus a bunch of prime 1.4 lens), and everything works very well. But, when I need to work with my Canon equipment (650 + 50mm 1.4 + Sigma 18-35...

Hi, My current gear list: - Rebel xsi - EF-S 55-250mm 1:4-5.6 IS - EFS 18-55m IS kit - EF 50mm 1.8 II - Tamrom 28-200mm 371D - and a Sony RS-100 M1 I am thinking of getting a t4i or t5i. But wonder whether Canon is going to release a new model soon. And maybe I should get a better lens instead of a body? Any suggestions/commons? Thanks a lot!

The lighting in my living room tends to be pretty dark even in the middle of the day, and I am getting quite frustrated about reducing noise in dark areas of my photos. I am a beginner and am still mastering trying to get the best balance for my photos. I use a Canon Rebel t4i. I was taking pictures of one of my guinea pigs and I was getting very frustrated with the dark areas of the photo.  This photo is at 135mm, shutter speed of 1/125 (ish, I don't remember the exact number but it was...

Hi, I'm new to this forum but have browsed a lot in the past when reading the wealth of information on here. I currently have a bit of a problem that I'd really like some help with - I've got about £380 to spend on a DSLR body -and- lens together, preferably second-hand from eBay and I'm also preferably looking at Canon or Nikon. About 4 years ago I bought a Nikon D40 which I liked a lot but didn't like the small viewfinder, lack of self-cleaning sensor, low FPS for wildlife photography,...
