I am a happy user of a Canon 5D Mkii since came out here in 2009. I reckon it has a few flaws but overall I am satisfied. The main problem I am having with the camera is a permanent wrong calibration of the diopter. I explain better with an example: if I use the autofocus on a subject and make proper diopter adjustment the image looks sharp through the viewfinder and on screen once taken. Now, with the same diopter position if I manually focus on another subject at a different distance the...

I've been a hobbyist since the Canon 550d/T2i came out a few years back. I've been using the ef-s 17-55 f2.8 and the ef 70-200 f4 L non-IS. I "think" that my skills have increased over that time and am considering upgrading my gear in order to do some gigs here and there. Reason I'm thinking about upgrading. I recently had the opportunity to do some publicity shots for a friend of mine who works in a local theater. Well, with the lighting conditions the way they were - I couldn't get my gear...

I have only had this happen to me twice, today and a few months back. I used my flash yesterday and noticed nothing. I have a 5D MK ii and am using a Jinbei 600w flash with a sync cord. The last time i experienced this was with my canon 430EX II flash and yongnuo wireless triggers. Please if anybody can help I'm really clueless when it comes to the technicals like this  excuse the mess just wanted to show you

I put the Canon OEM LP-E6 battery that came with my 6D into the battery compartment of my older 5D2. It was a snug enough friction fit that I had trouble getting the battery out ... took about 10 minutes with a small screwdriver blade. Once I got it out, all three of the LP-E6 batteries I have went fine into the 5D2. Anyone else notice that? I suppose there are manufacturing tolerances, so perhaps the compartment on my 5d2 is just a bit snug, and the 6D's battery was just a bit large? I have...

I have a 100mm F2.8L lens for my 5D2 but am looking for something cheap, old and even rusty.I'm making a film on Wood ants and would like a variety in terms of style.Could anyone give some tips for shooting macro footage or making it look very different even if it looks cheap and distorted? Thanks to all.

Any rumors floating around? I was looking at the Sony a7ii and the meager selection of lenses. The Sony Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* 135mm F1.8 ZA would have fitted my needs perfectly, as I'm currently using a Canon 5D2 + Canon 135/2.0L combo for many of my portraits. Does anyone know if there might be any plans to fit it to work with FE without the adapter? It would be nice to have the lens working optimally and also save the space/weight it adds to body and lens. Thanks in advance.

Has anyone in UK ordered one of these battery grips? The reviews are quite favourable & I am prepared to take the chance for $30 rather than the £100+ for Canons own. I want one for my 5D2 & one for my 7D. I find they give better balance with long lenses. Hope you can help.  --lee uk.There are old pilots, & there are bold pilots, but there are no old bold pilots."I'm so fast, when I turn off the light, i'm in bed before the room gets dark" The great Muhammad Ali.

I know the "help me choose" messages are a dime a dozen, but.....not sure, sometimes the more you read the more confused you get, so...thought I'd throw some more sticks on the fire of my indecision and make a post here :) I have recently begun to feel some....envy of my husband's new, light A6000 and have started seriously considering getting on the mirrorless bandwagon (now that he went and "opened" the door so to speak). I'm not in any particular rush since I have a Canon 5D Mark II,...
