I have a 5D classic and a 60D, and I found a used 5DII for 995e and a used 1DIII for 800e. My lenses are FF. How do these two cameras compare? Is it good the 1DIII has a 1.3x crop factor or will it be just a nuisance? Which has the best AF and the best IQ? --Teach me how to improve. Good Afternoon, I have never had photos printed.  I would like to print the odd photo to approximately 48 inches by 36 inches on canvas or paper.  Types of scenes may be portraits or landscape or underwater or astrophotography. What I would be grateful for is advice on whether there would be a noticeable difference in the print if the photo was taken on the Olympus EPL5 versus Canon 40D versus  the Canon 5D Mark II when the print will be large.  I own the Olympus EPL5 as well as the Canon 40D...

Hi guys. I have the 5DII and i'm concerned with the amount of hot/dead pixels in it. this is a 30s exposure, iso800, with the lens cap  Before asking for help here, i googled it and found the fix commonly used .  I did the following as described in the fix: "Wrench" menu > "Clean Manually" > waited for 30 seconds > turn off > turn on. Then i made the exposure below (SRaw1), imported to Hard Drive and converted to JPG with ACR. It worked, but only with the full Raw resolution. The SRaw1...

Going for some vacations on a trek in Northern Europe. Would you advise to take my 5D II (with a light 50mm for instance), or buy a new compact camera? [Was disconnected from the compact market for a long time - maybe there are new comers with 5D-50mm-like abilities?]

Hello all! So, I have been a Canon shooter for 12 years now and shoot weddings full time and landscape as a favorite hobby and for money whenever I get the chance.  So, About a month ago my trusty Canon 7D which has been my backup camera for a while got put on craigslist to get me some extra money to be put towards a better backup camera and or better landscape camera.   So, for the past 2 weeks I have been researching a lot of options and I had pretty much decided on getting a used Canon 5D...

I had EF 17-40mm f/4L USM with my Rebel XSi for few years.  It worked great.  However, it stucks/jams after taking the first photo when I put it on a brand-new 5D Mark II. Why is it doing that?  Is it the lens or camera problem? Note: My 5D Mark II is brand-new. It works flawlessly with all other EF lens.

Hello, I have a problem with printing from Lightroom and, after searching fruitlessly for answers, I am posting here in hope someone may have run into a similar problem before. I have a new Epson 3880 (which replaced an R3000 with a broken print head) and while examining the first few test prints I noticed that printing large images (13x19 or 17x22) results in some pixelation artifacts, in particular on diagonal edges in nature landscape images. This occurred with both Lightroom 5.5 and 5.6,...

I am interested in finding out from anyone here who might have experience with either or both of these lenses. My interest is in doing some night time landscape photography with the Milky Way in the sky and am thinking about going with one of these two lenses. I would be using it on either a 5D, 5D2 or 6D camera. I have access to a 14mm f/2.8L USM (not the mk2 version) lens so that option wouldn’t cost me anything but I don’t really like making a habit of borrowing. Auto-focus doesn’t really...

Hi all, I had some questions about which FF camera to buy for doing night photography. I asked on the open talk forum and someone suggested that I try here. Sounded like a good idea. Lately I have become interested in night photography and it has quickly become apparent (I think) that APS-c isn’t really the best way to get the results that I am after. For this reason I am in the process of looking into a full frame camera. Since I am already invested in Canon lenses I would probably want to...

I initially posted this on the Canon FF forum but am now thinking that this forum might have been a better place to ask. Lately I have become interested in night photography and it has quickly become apparent (I think) that APS-c isn’t really the best way to get the results that I am after. For this reason I am in the process of looking into a full frame camera. Since I am already invested in Canon lenses I would probably want to stick with a Canon camera. Here is an example of the type of...
