Hi guys! I have used 5D MarkII for a while until recently when I bought a Canon 6D. I alway shoot in live mode and use manual focus. When I was switching to manual focus in 5D MarkII, the rectangle would remain on the screen, which I was using to move around for brightness metering. I found it very useful in adjusting brightness manually. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find this feature on 6D. The rectangle disappears from live view screen as soon as I switch to manual focus. I...

Does anyone have any idea what happens to new cameras that have been manufactured but not sold. For example when Canon released the 5D2 what happened to any unsold 5D (original)? I assume that they didn't go through a development/manufacturing cycle and witheld release until the very last example of the 5D was sold. Or am I wrong?

In fed up with 800 iso on my 5dii and considering a buying a new camera.   I WILL buy a 5diii (or better if I wait) but in the meantime in contemplating a T5i for size, price, convenience and to use for some ond handed street shooting. What I'm wondering and asking from those with experience is how will the 800iso on the new crop camera compare with the 800iso on the older full frame model.  I've trien to narrow down the question to something relative to my experience and simple enough to be...

Hi there, I'm a beginner to photography, but I'm really interested and is currently reading lots of great photography books and browsing through sites. I wanted to ask people with more experience on camera purchasing, because I really don't know whether the camera would suit me. I was thinking of getting the Canon EOS 5D Mark II with a 24-105mm L IS USM lens, but it's a really high-end camera and so I'm not sure if I should get it. I'm planning to spend most of my savings on one camera and...

Hello. I have Canon 5d mk ii and I use Canon 28mm 1.8 lens. I like the camera and lens. Usually I shoot with f2 Iso3200 in AV mode. So in dark situations shutter speed slows down to 1/10 or even less. So I would like to know if there is setting for AV mode, to not allow camera shutter speed to be lower than 1/15 or 1/25. Thanks I know there is also posibility to use TV mode, but I prefer more natural colours and light in my pictures. and of course I am using flash in indoor photogrpahu - 430exii

I have no information in my viewfinder.  Is this a setting I can change?  I can't find it anywhere. My friend has a 5D Mark ii and has all the information in the viewfinder for her to see. thanks Raino

I have just bought  5D2 with 690 actuations. I was told [too late] that if I used a CF card off of another camera that had done 7,000, that the new camera would register the 7,000 actuations. Is that true, if so is there any way to "turn the clock back"? I will probably not ever sell the 5D2, but you never know! Any help appreciated.  PS. When I use the new camera with a new card, it still registers 7,000+. --lee uk.There are old pilots, & there are bold pilots, but there are no old bold...

I don't shoot raw & am no professional, so for fairly light use, what is the best way to go about buying CF cards. I have just bought a 5D2, that along with my 7D both take CF. I have only the one, an 8gb Sandisc Extreme. Is it better to buy a couple of smaller ones than, say 1 32gb? or a couple of 8's &/or 4's. Any advice welcome. I am assuming 2x8's will be more expensive than 1x16. TIA. --lee uk.There are old pilots, & there are bold pilots, but there are no old bold pilots."I'm so fast,...

So yea I recently got a deal to buy an used 5D mark II, the shots counter is 25.000, and it flawless. Is it worth it, if so which lens should I buy with it? The camera is approx 950 USD and I have 250 USD to buy the rest.  I enjoy filming movies, which is why I was looking for the 5D mark II, (I've heard good things) I too enjoy taking pictures of landscapes. Is the entire deal worth it or should I buy a cheaper camera (like 1200d) and get a more expsensive lense? Is the camera too...

I just cleaned my sensor and then I found something which surprised me. There are 2 burn marks on the black surface above the mirror and below the focussing screen. I researched this a bit and found a very good picture that looks exactly as my camera https://www.flickr.com/photos/48856435@N05/5123263248/ That guy seems to have similar burn marks and he claims it's from the sun. No I absolutely cannot remember that I every shot directly into the sun but perhaps the camera was hanging in an...
