Hey there, For the longest time I have been taking photos with my Iphone 4S, but lately I've been getting sick of how I cant adjust focus, shutter speed, or aperture freely, and how it just gives me a white dot when I'm trying to take a photo of like say a moon (today's moon is orange and i wanted to take a photo but it comes out as just a white dot). So lately I've been thinking of getting a PROPER camera to actually take photos of these things. Now normally, I don't take photos, but...

HI, I have a few questions regarding the off camera use of Canon 430exii. I have connnected it to 5Dmark iii using Yongnuou yn622C. When I am putting the flash on manual mode and after setting the power, as soon as I half press the shutter button on the camera, the flash switches to ettl mode, what am doing wrong? Am I correct in assuming that -3 on ettl is same power output as 1/64 on manual. and ±0(ettl)= 1/8(manual) ? I would also like to know how can I set another set of trigger and...

Ever since the announcement of the A7R II, I've been thinking about choosing it over the upcoming Cnon 5D Mark IV as the upgrade to my 5D Mark III. But one concern I have is over the lens choices.  I love the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L II as a great all-around lens. I also love the Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8 lens on my E-M1 for the same reason. I've always loved the convenience and image quality of high-end standard zoom lenses, so I'd like to have something similar if I do end up going with the A7R...

What is the tracking mode in Canon cameras which tracks the subject across available AF points? In Nikon cameras it's called 3D tracking, where initially the middle point is used then as the subject moves around the frame, the other AF points light up to show where the camera is currently tracking. I'm having trouble activating an equivalent mode on the 5D III, not sure what AF menu settings to use. Any pointers would be appreciated.

I am thinking of investing on some good glass for my 5D for portraits/fashion shoots. Unfortunately a 70-200mm f2.8 option is out of budget so currently I can only afford either a new 85mm f/1.8 EF USM or a used 70-200mm f/4 non-IS. I have read good things about them both but I don't know whether it would be most useful to have the speed of the f1.8 or the versatility of 70-200mm. Since I believe a lot of flash shooting will be involved perhaps the f1.8 will not be used that much but on the...

Hi all, What are your thoughts on the 5Dmk3 vs 6D for weddings? Also, if I only use the center focus point alone (which is my shooting style), is there a huge benefit of a 5D mk3 for me since it is $1,100 more? Pros and Cons of each if you don't mind. I'm planning full frame migration.. I thought switching to Nikon since they have acceptable autofocus in cheap FF body such as D610 compared to Canon 6D. Nikon also seems to have better sensor But I really like EF 400mm f/5.6 L USM for its price. Nikon does not have such lens. There for I have to buy 5D mk III and stick to canon when migrating.

Basically ive got £1100 to spend I can get  a gh4 and kit lens for around £1100  OR A G7 and maybe a better prime or zoom. I will be using this for photography and video, a lot of interview shooting. For photography im coming from a Canon 5d mk1 and 50mm f1.4 (which i just sold on ebay because i need something with video). Most of what i shoot is macro, landscape and street. Thanks Paul

I'm switching my lens collection around, and would love some sage wisdom on the matter. I currently shoot food photography, portraits, and headshots as a hobby, making a little money on the side here and there. My main food lens/body combo is the Tamron 90mm Macro (non IS (VC) version) and a 5d mkiii. I am ready to upgrade to the Canon 100mm Macro IS F/2.8L, as I don't get nearly as many keepers as I'd like to shooting handheld when I'm not using lights. I think the IS will help a great...
