I owned a 20D and dropped it in the ocean taking a pic of the milk way, then last sunday, girlfriend ran over my 40D replacement while I was loading the canoe and her parking the car.  Anyway, long story short; I realize these two cameras offer pretty different features, not the least of which FF Vs Crop.My question, if I shoot mostly landscape & wildlife (and often from the inside of a canoe in low light) what am I going to be most happy with?  My 17-55 2.8 IS was on the camera when it got...

On the Canon 5D it is possible to choose an AF point that the camera initially focuses on. If the subject then starts to move the AF point will change to track the subject. The A6000 has "Lock-on AF" but by default it requires pressing the button in the centre of the dial and also seems locked to a medium sized central zone. Is it possible to get the A6000 AF to behave like the 5DIII?

I have a $4000 budget to upgrade my equipment. I currently have Canon T2i w/ the following Canon lenses: 50mm f/1.4 70-300mm f/4 - 5.6 L 10-22mm EFS 15-85mm EFS 60mm Macro EFS I purchased the Canon 5D Mark III w/ 24-105mm kit, as I have been lusting after this camera for years for all the great shots that have come out of it. I love the photos especially with the 50mm attached. However, I am a bit disappointed with the noise on my RAW photos - and the fact that they really aren't much better...

I work in the procurement section of my company and I received a request to have Canon 5D MK III (or MK IV when they're available) to replace the Sony XDCAM PMW-EX1 we have. One of the benefits they say is that they won't have to carry around the 5D MK II they have now and the Sony XDCAM when they travel. The guys who use this equipment shoot almost exclusively outside and sometimes in rugged environments. There can be lots of motion in the stuff they capture. They don't do any studio...

Hi folks!  Been a while since I've been in the camera game (about 2 years since my last post). On a whim I came here to see what's going on in the photography world and read a few reviews. What I'm seeing is one of the big things is video and autofocus... ability?  So much of the marketing is on taking 1080p video and so forth - something in which I have 0 desire.  So I'm looking back at the cameras that were out when I had mine - the 20D.  It occurred to me that a camera like the 5D, which...

Greetings to all!  So, I am in no rush.  I currently shoot with a 6D and a 7D and have good glass to accompany each.  I mainly shoot events and this set-up works, however, it is shooting with two different systems.  Each has their strengths and weaknesses and we can go into them but they have been beaten to death.  I'm not a gear head, I recently traveled and shot with an EOS-M and 45 year old Rokkor lenses with awesome results.  I am contemplating unloading my 7D and Ef-S 17-55 in the...

I'm trying to improve my knowledge in understanding how sensor technology determines IQ, especially for my needs*. Sorry if my questions are a bit stupid, but I'd rather ask :-)I would be pleased if you could post some pictures as examples to better explain.1- Some people complain about 5D3's "low ISO noise" performance, but I don't understand what it means. To me, low ISO is only used when light is strong enough to allow a particular aperture / shutter speed setting. I have the feeling that...

I've been a hobbyist since the Canon 550d/T2i came out a few years back. I've been using the ef-s 17-55 f2.8 and the ef 70-200 f4 L non-IS. I "think" that my skills have increased over that time and am considering upgrading my gear in order to do some gigs here and there. Reason I'm thinking about upgrading. I recently had the opportunity to do some publicity shots for a friend of mine who works in a local theater. Well, with the lighting conditions the way they were - I couldn't get my gear...

Hi guys, i came across a second hand 5D MKII , its offered without a price . since its owner can't decide on a fair price . its Shutter has been replaced , its has over 500K photos taken and the motherboards has also been replaced. Question 1: Is it worth buying ? Question 2: How much is it worth? Question 3: how do i check to see if something wrong with it.
