I bought a second-hand EOS 5D MK3 about a year ago and have been very pleased with everthing about it. I bought a Meike grip (with Li-ion batteries) to go with it a few months back and it worked very well until about two weeks ago when I found it drained the battery in a few minutes and actually left them that they would not recharge. Last week I bought the genuine Canon battery for it and it has done exactly the same with it. Has anyone else had this experience?

I have an older iPad, an iPhone  (ois 7.1.2)and a Kindle Fire. I am able to connect to the Kindle but not to the other devices. When I initially downloaded the apps to the apple devices I was able to connect but now I can only connect to the Kindle. Anyone having similar issues or better yet, anyone with a solution? Thanks in advance. --Harry-Day Job Photographywww.dayjobphotography.comCanon 5dNikon FM3aLeica DLUX-4 FujiFilm X-T1

I have a Canon 5D, the original, also known as the 5D1 or Mark I.  I am trying to get it's shutter count and have already tried the EOScount website but it did not support my camera. It is also not in the EXIF file information (according to other sites that try to get it off a raw image). Does anyone know how I can retrieve the shutter count off of my 5D? Thank you in advance.

This is my first post here, even been around for a couple years. I'm here to ask for help to decide which Canon camera body deserves my investment. I'm a amateur photographer seen the things getting a bit serious. I'm starting to make some money with photography, mostly working as second photographer for a pro. In this cases, I use Nikon system (D700 plus a bunch of prime 1.4 lens), and everything works very well. But, when I need to work with my Canon equipment (650 + 50mm 1.4 + Sigma 18-35...

Hi,  I seem to need a 24-70mm zoom lens for a fairly specific, but repeating application, namely shooting stills and making-of photos on film sets. I'm typically working under serious time pressure (during rehearsals/quickly after a take/between takes) and in cramped quarters fighting for space with the cinema camera and the rest of the film crew. I can clear the set from the crew, but the cinema camera beats poor me every time :D I've been using primes all my life, but now I don't have the...

Hello, I'm not sure this is the right forum for my question, but here we go... A few years ago I moved from cheap p&s cameras to bigger and more expensive cameras and lenses. I always hated the look I got from the flash on the small p&s cameras so I decided to never shoot with flash again and use only available light. When the light is really good which is typically indoor near a window I'm very satisfied with my result, but outside in daylight I have problems with dark eyes, so I have...

My Alaska trip is around the corner. I'm so thrilled for my husband to see what all the hype is about. I loved Alaska 2 years ago. We are going on a cruise from Vancouver to Seward (stops in Juneau, Ketchikan, Icy Straight Point, and Skagway) - then onto Denali and Fairbanks at the end.If you have been to Alaska (and/or photograph nature and wildlife), please weigh in on my equipment decisions. Tell me if this makes sense or what I am missing. I am normally a portrait photographer - nature...

Hi--- I am a 65 year old veteran of the photo wars--- old film person forced to digital.   I use Canon equipment and am looking for a lighter weight 28-70 L version as my workhorse lens.   Back in the day I fotod 30-40 weddings/yr--- far less now for reasons we all know.    My body is getting old and the right wrist forearm shoulder neck is in trouble, in part due to the weight of items like 5D, power boost and flash for a day.    I'm looking for a lighter version of the above mentioned lens...

I've done some preliminary shopping for equipment and set-ups but there seems to be a vast variety of options for going about this.  I have a Speedlite 580EXII (shooting with Canon 5D Mark II).  I am usually in the studio using an assortment of strobes, reflectors, umbrellas, boxes, etc.  I can go portable with a couple Buff Einstein lights using their Vagabond power supplies, but I'd like to get some use out of the seldom used Speedlite.  I'd like to get it off the camera and like to get...

I am planning a vacation in Italy with my family, we will be spending two days in Rome, one in Tivoli, one in Pisa/Florence, one in Sorrento area.  Looking for some general advice for those that have traveled in Italy.   Given the equipment in my profile, I am leaning towards bringing the G1X MkII and the 5DMKIII, the new 16-35 IS, and 85mm and leaving the rest of the gear home.  Based on the day itinerary, I would take either the G1X or 5DMkIII but not both.  I'd like to be able to fit...
