All, Looking to sell/part-ex my Canon DSLR kit here in the UK. I know there is a For Sale forum here, but it is very US-dominant. I was wondering if any UK members had any experience of any places that offer sensible prices for used kit? A lot of camera stores typically offer laughable valuations and whilst I could Ebay the lot, I'd rather do it all in person if possible. Based in the London/Essex area. --RegardsJohnCanon EOS 550D & Panasonic FZ50

My wife has had this camera (550D) for a couple of years and only has the standard lens that came with it and now she is wanting another lens.  She wants a zoom lens for capturing images of the kids playing sports, what is a good zoom lens for this type of activity. We do not have unlimited budget so we are also wanting something that will not break the bank but still provide great pictures. Thanks in advance for any and all recommendations. Michael

We're going to be cruising around the tip of South America (Patagonia) and up Chile. I have a Canon Rebel T2i and I may be buying a Canon 6D. I'll be photographing penguins (10 ft to 250 ft distance) and maybe whales. I would appreciate any advice.  Do I need a lens that goes up to 400mm? Do I need a zoom lens? There's a Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM Lens that sounds good or the Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM Lens that is a heavy 3.7 lbs?

Hello y'all, I can't make my mind if i should get the x100s or not. - love the image quality and the portability, and fixed lens is not a problem - Although I mainly take pictures, I'm always having loads of video ideas that I would like to make them happen. So the video quality is my main concern. How poor is the x100s video quality? (before I had a canon 550d, and that is good enough for me) which other camera would u recommend in the same price range, but with better video? (please don't...

Hi there. I have a Canon 550D and started using studio lights/flashes recently. I use a wireless flash trigger attacked to the top of my camera.  Now the problem is that it seems the settings are so that the flash only works every second picture I take. Does anyone know where to perhaps change this in the settings? I need to add to this that I have installed Magic Latern.

So, my 'real' photographic journey began with my trusty Canon EOS 550D. It was a workhorse of a DSLR that guided me through my early years as I was learning. Recently I upgraded to a 6D (which I'm absolutely loving), which is the real deal for landscapes and still object shots. Since my 550D is quite redundant now, I sold it off to get a 2nd camera, which will be a much smaller mirrorless, for street and (maybe) moving object photography. The only question is, which is the best for under (or...

Hi there!  Newbie here hoping to get some confirmation as to why my lens is malfunctioning. Unfortunately I dropped my camera (Canon Rebel T2i) this past weekend and ever since my autofocus on the 18-55 mm lens has not been working properly.  Manual focus works the same as it had before. Whenever I try to autofocus, the focus lens does not move but it sounds like there is a motor running.  I actually took the lens apart to see whether it was a flex cable that had broke -- didn't really look...

Hi, I'm an amateur photographer, I use my 550d mostly for trips and family photography. I've noticed that the pictures I get are not sharp enough, the 18-135 feels shaky. I looking for a new camera, preferably DSLR (any other suggestions are welcomed). Of course, I want the 5D MIII but it's very expensive for me. I don't mind buying 2nd hand gear. I would like a recommendation for a camera (full-frame or not), and a couple of high quality lenses for those sharp photos. any other suggestions...

I currently have a now defunked 300D, and wanting to buy a new body, I just want to check for peace of mind that the lenses I have will work fine with a newer body (currently looking at the 550D so not new new models.) the oldest lenses I have are the Standard 18-55 and 80-200 canon lenses, I have one or 2 other bits and bobs too that I cant remember details of, but if these EF-S ones are fine, then so will the other bits. In my mind theres no reason why not, but want to check before spending...
