Hi guys, I love travel photography and was lucky enough to catch a few good photos over the years (https://500px.com/guyn) but I feel I've been stuck in the same spot for quite some time due to a combination of gear and lack of theoretical knowledge (I've never learned photography). I'm planning a 1 month holiday in Japan later this year and want to kit myself out and try do things better this time and really need your advise. Current kit is: Canon 550D with 18-200mm, 17-55mm 2.8f lenses, and...

Hi everyone.  I enjoy photography as a hobby and I am looking for a new lens.  Being a novice photographer, I don't really understand "photography language" so it can be hard to read reviews and know exactly what people are saying.  I own a Canon EOS Rebel T2i and the kit lens that came with it, an 18-55mm lens.   Ultimately, I would like to purchase an upgrade from my kit lens - something I can use for everyday photos.  I would also like to purchase a lens that is good for portraits, and...

I will be going for a trekking holiday. Nepal carrying my canon 550D with variable lenses would be a weight problem , changing lenses would also be an issue. so I was opting for a compact camera with sufficient zoom ( 20x ) and preferably the panoramic scene mode. Quality of pics is important too. I was opting for the Nikon cool pic range which seem quite reasonably priced. please could you help me out. thanks Jo Azzopardi

Short version: I bought a Panasonic G7 and want to know what cheap used lenses to look for that work with my camera. Read on at your own discretion. Otherwise meet me in the last paragraph and give your opinion. I am a proud new owner of a Panasonic G7 (with 14-42 kit lens) and so far I like everything about it. But as I look toward the future, I want to make sure I fully understand the M43 world as I am a complete neophyte. First, a little about my camera experience and goals. If you find...

Hi there, I recently obtained a Canon 60D, was passed down to me by a relative, I have this quick question if some of you encounters this 'bug/event/feature' as well. Sometimes my image dimension changes in between shots. without me changing the setting. For example. I usually shoot images at 5184x3456 pixel, I'm used to this dimension since I was using Canon 550D too.then sometimes I get 5184x2912 and it kinda annoys me that it changes without me knowing. any idea what i'm doing wrong? or...

My son has a T2i that has served him well.  He would like to have it cleaned but is torn between having our local independent camera shop or Canon do it.  Interested to hear your thoughts, experiences, and recommendations.  Thanks.

Hey there, are there any articles around, which analyze and explain a little bit in depth why and how different camera manufacturers' color rendition work? Background: I am a happy Olympus shooter at the moment; have mainly used a Canon Rebel T2i / 550D before, and some others (including Fuji X100 Mk. 1). What often strikes me is: The old Canon's color rendition is VERY attractive to me. I figured out so far, that the Canon Auto-WB favours warm / pinkish WB shift in many lighting...
