I am preparing to update my very old Rebel 350D. Tho only variant i consider is 70D. Thought to buy it with kit lens 18-135 STM. However I doubt if I need it right now: the lens is heavy, and I very rarely need long focus. I have a 18-55 IS kit lens from my Rebel. Pretty light, but non-STM. Does it make sense to use it with 70D or I will lose some important features of the camera? I never shot video (not sure I will do it soon with the new camera either).
Hi, I have put aside the idea of "changing everything" for the moment and will rather go for a progressive upgrade of my equipment. Which means staying with Canon. My current camera is a Canon EOS 350D (bought in 2006) and the kit lens that goes with it. Now, I am hesitating on what to upgrade first... Should I change the body or go for a new lens? I do landscape photos, monuments (typical tourist!) and I love night shots (although I am still learning). And I am not a big fan of multiple...
Because I wil soon be travelling overseas, I have "upgraded" my desktop running Windows XP Service Pack 3 to a laptop running Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1, 64 bit.On the desktop, when I plugged in my camera (Canon 350D / XT) Canon EOS Utility version 18.104.22.168 started automatically. I still have, and have installed the software that came with the camera (EOS Digital Solution DisK Version 10.0), but despite this, the laptop does not recognise the camera when attached via a the USB...
I already own the 24LII, the 50L and the 135L. The 8-15L is great to have something on the low milimeter scale, but it's a zoom, and I don't like zooms because of IQ issues versus primes. The 100L should give me great macro shots, but is there a big difference compared with the 135 I already own? I would like to own the 200 2.0L and sell my 135, but right know, I cannot afford this lens. And I saw a 300 2.8LI for about $3200, even though this is about half the price of the first one, it is...
I'm going on a trip around the world soon, and I'd like to upgrade my photo equipment. I have an old Canon Digital Rebel XT (350D), and my initial thought was to just buy a < $350 new lens. (I'd love to spend more, but I'm on a tight budget.) However, a few folks on the Photography StackExchange have suggested that the 350D isn't even as good as the current iPhone, and that I'd be better off selling the body and buying an all-in-one. Now, I'm very much an amateur photographer, and I haven't...
The gear i have now: Canon eos 350d (rebel xt) Sigma 18-200 DC 3,5/6.3 Canon ef 100mm macro USM (non L version) I also have a light stand and a multi-purpose umbrella with a Speedlite 580ex first gen. I shoot a wide variety of things, from macro to portraits to events to high speed, but I'm still a starting photographer. I'd love to have a new camera, but maybe a new lens would benefit me more. I am willing to spend up to about 1500€ (something like 2000 dollars or 1300 pounds) A good...
Hi, I have been doing research for ages now and still have not come to any conclusions on what camera and lens to buy for professional product photography. Everyone seems to have a different opinion so I thought I would just post my specific situation. My budget is between $1000 and $1500. I have already purchased and used a good continuous lighting setup (3 x Fluorescent Light 4x85watt with soft box covers). Currently I am using a canon 350d with 18 - 55mm lens. I know its old and not the...
Hi all, I'm looking for a little advice on which lens to buy next. I own a Canon 350D and a 7D, I mainly shoot pictures of my family and predominantly of my three year old son; I also enjoy shooting landscape (countryside) and architectural shots. For family shots my favourite lens is my EF85mm 1.8 and closely followed by my EFS 60mm macro. For landscape shots I currently use a 17-40mm f4L. To fund the new lens I’ve got the 17-40 on ebay. I really love prime lenses so have been considering...
