Do the STM lenses work on the EOS 350D? Is there any reason why they would not work?

I am looking to upgrade my old Canon 350d, would like something that also shoots video. I was set on getting a 700d and 18-135 stm lense, then I noticed the Panasonic FZ1000! shoots 4k video at 30fps (you can take a 8mp shot of any of those 30 frames). a few concerns are the smaller sensor (more noise), and I like a shallow dof when doing portraits. OIS can be heard on the video

I currently have a Canon EOS 350d which has served us well, until the kids we bought it to take photos of, dropped it. So now we need a new camera. I primarily use the P mode, and sometimes the A-DEP mode and very rare try setting the time value. I would love a camera that take great photos both in bright nature and inside where the light is low.Video would be great to have also. And GPS either built in or via an iOS app. I have fallen in love with the Fujifilm X-T1, but it has lots of...

Hello all, I just got my 6D and something I noticed using the mode P, is that it tends to keep high shutter speed (i.e. 1/30, 1/60). ISO being very good on this body, I wonder why Canon chose to do so :( Nevertheless, now I'm using only mode M, setting shutter speed to 1/200 and aperture to f4 for all-around photos (and changing them for particular situations). Auto ISO does the rest. I didn't have the auto ISO feature on my 350D and it is really something very comfortable. Really a must...

I currently have a Canon 350D which is over 8 years old now and thinking of replacing/upgrading it. Can anyone give any recommendations of what would be a good replacement? I would like to have the option of HD video, although by the looks of it most "current" models seem to have this now-a-days. I only have two lenses currently, the 18-55mm kit lens and a 70-300mm IS lens , so would like to be able to continue using these on my next camera. Also thinking of getting some extension tubes to...

As a complete novice in this wonderful world of photography with just a Canon 350D and a couple of standard lenses, is it worth buying a light meter and what sort of price range should I be looking at ? Regards Graham

Hi to all my name is Graham I'm sixty seven and I have just joined what I'm hoping is a forum that will help me understand my camera, I feel rather stupid in posting this but at least no one can see me blush. My wife bought me a Canon 350D some years ago and like many other things it was a toy for the moment and I was quite happy to let Auto do everything, now I'm retired and have plenty of time on my hands I want to get away from auto and into manual but I have a problem. My problem is that...

Hi everyone, I am looking at buying a D7100 or D5200 in the near future but am trying to decide on what lenses to get with the new camera. I am switching over from having a Canon 350D with a couple of Sigma lenses so am starting with Nikon from scratch. I like to shoot Architecture, some wildlife/nature and eventually to get in to macro. I have pretty much decided on getting the 35mm f.1.8G DX but struggling to decide if I need a zoom in the same range e.g the 18-55mm kit lens or the 16-85mm...
