I'm a professional photographer who specialises in wedding and commercial photography. When I decided to invest in digital technology many years ago, I chose Canon over the other manufacturers for many reasons, including the build quality, ergonomics, menu layout, software (DPP), image quality and superb back-up one gets from Canon CPS in the UK. To date I've owned 3 of the "1" series cameras, i.e. the 1Ds, 1Ds MK3 and the 1Dx. When the 1Dx was launched I was expecting the results to surpass ...

Best CANON SLR I have ever used, had several other bodies before, both film and digital, but this is just something special, speed and auto focus are on a different level to anything out there.  The build quality is superb, and general handling is fantastic.  Excellent camera, not perfect but then what is? I JUST WISH THAT DPR WOULD ONE DAY HOPEFULLY BEFORE I DIE, DO A FULL REVIEW ON THIS CAMERA!!! AND THE NIKON D4 AS WELL!!! :-(

I was fortunate enough to test the the canon 1DX against the Nikon D4 I have been shooting Nikon since 1979. For the work I do shooting dogs in action, horse shows eventing, wildlife, weddings, functions and calendars. The 1DX was the best also under for what I do. It was sharper in focus to provide significantly better detail of the hair on a dog, super IQ at functions at Iso 12800. The Nikon D4 was better with people dressed in black with Black hair and darker skin tones. However I have ...

I had one of Mark III 1d Mark IV but this is better, almost no noise to 12800 ISO, shutter speed awesome, amazing images. With latest firmware you can automatically capture f .8 with 2x converter. Recommended!! Problems: ND

This is it, the top pro DSLR in late 2012. IMHO, better than the Nikon D4. I have used the Nikon D800E and Canon 5DM2 before as well as concurrently with the 1DX over 4 months. If you have large hands, the feel of the 1DX is just right. The portrait option with even a 70-200 2.8 handheld is natural and I can shoot hundreds of frames with little fatigue. Skin tones is just that tiny bit better over the Nikon. I love the details with the D800E and the Nikon 85 1.4, just that faces look ...

I have not tested the new firmware I plan on doing that this Saturday. I shoot sports, mostly football. I own the 1Dx and the 1D mark IV. I am shooting Manual, ISO 4000, 3.2f, speed 500 with a 70-200 2.8 L IS II lens. I have shot about 30,000 pictures with the 1Dx since I got it in July. I bought this camera because it is a must have when shooting in low light. I can shoot at ISO 4000 and get much better pictures than my 1d mark IV at ISO 2500. It allows you to shoot at higher speeds and ...

This is the best that Canon has to offer in camera bodies. It is very fast and accurate in its focusing. A very tough body. This is my third 1D series Canon camera and it is incredible.Wow is all I can say.

I too am a fashion photographer and I am often required to shoot in extreme lighting conditions. I'm presently shooting with the 1D Mark IV but what attracts me about the 1DX is that lovely Full Frame sensor. I recently had the opportunity to play with the 1DX in Yokohama, Japan at CP+ last month and I was blown away by the ISO performance. At ISO 8000 the pictures were crystal clean, so they must have fixed some of the problems the other reviewer here is referring too (not sure when he ...
