Hi, which slot is faster cf or sd? What would you recommend - I'm guessing some of the current faster cards would be overkill. Looking for the optimal card for clearing the buffer. Thanks Jim

Hi, just picked up a second hand one and first thing I noticed was the audible noise when taking a photo. Seems a lot louder than 5D2 and 6D. Is this normal? Thanks Jim

preface: Just like many people before me, I made the same mistake and brought a cheap tripod long time ago and don't use it as often. Well, I am not using it is another problem; but when it try to use it, it seem clunky and hard to use and not to mention doesn't seem stable. Fast forward to recent days, I have own a Sirui carbon fiber and like it. Many review seem to suggest that the brand seem to carry something worthwhile. For the value, it seem all-round, Sirui is the best bang for the...

Hello, I just picked up a used 1D Mark III for shooting some sports at local schools, and the only thing that concerns me is that it is only 10mp.   My question is very simple.  How big can you print with this camera only being 10mp before things start to look terrible?  The school is asking for 20x30 prints and even bigger than that to hang in their school. Thanks!!

Hello everyone,I am new to this forum but I spent hours(sss) reading several threads about 1D bodies.I am thinking to upgrade my 1000D body to a 1D Mark II N and I would be very thankfull for your feedback. So more about my background and use. I shoot mainly animals in action like dogs, horses etc. and some kid's/portraits/macros. I am not at all a pro, but I have a very modest freelance activity.I need much better IQ and AF. With my old rebel, I think I am more successfull focusing manually...

Hey Everyone, I have been digging around on here the past couple days looking to see if someone had already posed this question.  I am looking for some feedback on recommended upgrades based on my usage. Current Setup:-Canon 40D w/battery grip-Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM-Canon 24-105mm f/4.0L IS USM Usage:-Sports (Outdoor mainly, very little indoor)-More Sports... Reason for upgrading (at least my current thoughts):-More MP (being able to crop in more on shots)-Better ISO performance (more...

Hi everyone, has anyone else encountered an "error 05" with a 1D? This error should not be possible with this body as a "error 05" is for a pop up flash error, the 1D doesn't have a pop up flash. If any knowledgeable people are out there and willing to help your wisdom would be much appreciated. Thanks and happy shooting!-Mike

Hello! I am testing my newly acquired 1dIII plus 400/5.6 prime. I am trying to compare pictures with AF with those with live-view and manual focus. After mixing shots, I don't remember which were which, and DPP info does not tell me what method did I use for each exposure. Is there a way to extract this info from the file?  Case in point:  I can't tell if I took this picture with AF or MF/live view: 1dIII 400mm ISO 3200, but what focusing method???  -- 'Heavens declare the glory of God,' and...

Hi, I'm interested in what lens I should buy next. I'm looking into L glass, but also kind of a budget. I kind of have a more photojournalistic style, and I vary from portraits to landscapes, a good zoom with a constant aperture of at least 4 or 2.8 would be the best. I've been looking at the 24-105, 17-40, 16-35 (pricey), 24-70 or a 70-200 (Debating IS or non IS, since I found myself doing sports photography indoors). I've looked around on Amazon, BHPhotoVideo, and even Craigslist to just...

Hello! I just bought a used 1DIII. The English manual is missing, but the camera is in excellent shape. This is my first 1D body ever. I cannot lower the 1SO under 200.  The first thing I did when I got the camera was to reset all settings to factory default. I tried custom function I-3, played with it, deactivated it, registered the Lowest ISO speed to "L", clicked "apply"... Tried everything and still ISO will not go lower than 200. Am I missing something? Or is the software in the camera...
