Wideangle zoom lens | Canon EF-M

. The Canon EF-22mm f/4 IS STM lens is one of those pseudo-luxury items that we probably all want.  How many people use an Ultra-Wide-Angle Lens every day as a walkabout lens?  Not too many, I would imagine.  But a few EOS-M users are starting to do so with this lens and it's easy to see why it's so popular.  Ultra Wide Lenses tend to produce the best results when the scene offers a chance for dynamic perspective and complimenting lines.  I have been trying to obtain this lens for months and ...

This lens is really exceptional. The image is sharp from corner to center at all apertures with maybe a little softening at 11 mm at the far corner at least in my copy, which I've seen in only one shot so far, so it shouldn't be an issue. If I had to find any flaws, it will be the fairly visible barrel distortion which goes away at about 14mm. The bad news is Adobe Lightroom's profile doesn't correct the distortion very well. The good news is the lens is small, not vey expensive and very ...

So this lens found it´s way to my M, to complete my setup. It looks sturdy, handles well, and the resolution and image quality is superb for this class, system size and price. I had problems with literally every single wide angle lens around. From reviews, those wideangle lenses seemed to produce very blurry images, especially in corners. To add to this problem, with wide angle lens one obviously has lowwer absolute resolution per angle, so it looked even worse. Not this one. Maaan this is ...

I finally managed to get up into the mountains for some extreme alpine backpacking on Mt Rainier and Mt Hood over the last few weekends. This provided me the opportunity to test out the 11-22 IS lens. I brought the 18-55 IS but only used it once. I have been blown away by the 11-22's quality. The corners are amazingly sharp! It easily beats the image quality of my 16-35/2.8L II when mounted to my 5D2. When DxO Mark released their review of the 11-22 I have been running comparisons to see how ...

This lens seems to be as optically as good, if not better, than the 10-22 and the Tokina 11-16 DX II on APS-C. If all you care about is IQ, then this is the lens for you, just buy it. There's no arguing that this UWA Zoom lens is the best option on the M as of August 2013. While this lens looks modern, sharp, and metal, it's feels light in your hands and cheap in my opinion -- but cheap ($) also being one of the best qualities of this lens. People like to claim that this is an 'L' quality ...
