I've used this lens for about two and a half years now. In combination with a full frame sensor it is simply stunning. I acquired mine second hand shortly after my 1Ds Mark III and it has been my favoured lens for travel, which make sup much of my life. It is lightweight, admits lots of light, is sturdy in construction, and fast to focus. Vignetting in terms of reduced definition (not so much darkness) is quite noticeable beneath about f/4.5 on faster shutter speeds and it can take a bit of ...

Hai friends, I am using Canon EOS 70D with Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM for marriage programmes with 50mm f/1.4 for portrait. The above combination gives me satisfied results.

Product: Canon 16-35L II Type of use: Commercial landscape photography Cameras used: 6D and 5D2 Website: http://www.johaneickmeyer.com I've had this lens for nearly two years now and thought I would post a review of what I think is good and bad about the 16-35L II. I shoot 100% landscapes and have taken tens of thousands of shots using this lens. I have also owned the Nikon 14-24 and Canon 17-40. If you want test shot comparisons, I recommend trying out this site. My review is based more on a ...

I've owned this lens for a few years and it sees use in a wide variety of conditions including a lot of snow and wet conditions. It performs much better than the earlier versions of the lens I owned. In particular it is very good when shooting into the sun. It resists flare well for a wide angle zoom, the best I've used. It has excellent sunstar, again better than older models. This is a very useful lens and delivers high quality images.

I acquired my first full frame DSLR, 6D a month ago. I am very surprised on how digital imaging has improved since 2006 (comparing with my old 30D). Since I cannot put the EF-S 17-55 on 6D, and the performance of my old wide zoom lens Tamron 20-40 2.8 is mediocre at best, I decided to acquire a new zoom lens for the 6D. After reading some reviews from the Internet, I selected the 16-35 2.8 II over the cheaper 17-40 4. I am happy to find out that the performance of the 16-35 2.8 II does not ...

I bought this lens just recently at the Helsinki camera fare. My interest for this lens is mainly for landscape shooting but also architecture etc. So, I had two lenses in my sights : the EF 17-40mm and this upgraded EF16-35mm f/2.8L II USM. Fortunately, I got a really good deal on this lens. The + about this lens is definitely the wide aperture at the whole range. The images are sharp from edge to the other and I haven't noticed any annoying distortion when shooting relatively close to ...

I love this lens and have really nothing bad at all to say. I've owned most of the Canon wide zooms over time (aside from the first generation 16-35 f2.8L that this replaces) and this is by far the best. I find it to be very sharp and the flare to be extremely well controlled for a wide zoom. I shoot it straight into the sun on many occasions and while a good prime might beat it, it is outstanding for a zoom. The 82mm filter size might be seen as a negative if you own 77mm filters already. ...

Superb lens - great image quality, good build quality and fast enough for most situations. I use mine on a 7d - on a full frame you'd get even more wide-angle. I have used this as a one-lens-only carry around for city tours as it's not as heavy as the 24-70. This has worked really well and only occasionally have I yearned for a bit more reach - never felt it wasn't wide enough. One of my favourite lenses of all - wouldn't be without it Problems: None
