A week ago I was asking the other people about this lens or any other good wide angle lens for APS-C sensor cameras, different opinions about IQ and chromatic aberration, I decided to get it and try it myself! Well I took a few shots with it and it impressed me, indeed its a lens with a hidden L. Very sharp pictures very good contrast and colours even wide open at f3.5. I took this shot in Natural History Museum in London the other day 1/8 - ISO100 - f13 http://500px.com/photo/66520805?from=user

I used my 10-22 at 10mm 90% of the time, mostly shooting architecture, cityscape and even candid . PRO: (1) Excellent center sharpness, even wide open at f3.5. Good enough edge sharpness when stopped down to 5.6. (2) For a UWA, relatively low distortion. However, the perspective distortion associated with all UWA still exists. Plan to take advantage of this unique view point.

For the money, this is an excellent wide angle lens.  I love it. The build quality of this lens is excellent, solid and tight.  The pictures are very clear as long as you stay away from the widest focal length and even then the real issue are the edges.  For landscapes it rocks, it you use the widest focal length for closeups you will see some pretty significant distortion as you move away from the center of the photo. I highly recommend this lens as an excellent landscape lens...I'm sure ...

I must say after owning first wanting this lens, could not afford it and then getting the Sigma version of this, I had to return the sigma due to performance issues and plunge into my pocket for this lens and there has been no turning back yet. One year later countless of travels with it, countless of shots with it I am really happy with it and its performance. It took me a while to master it and wield its power but it was well worth the wait I love this lens. When I was first shopping for ...

Pros: - Excellent range for APS-C format, 16-35mm equivalent. For a long time was my #1 travel/architecture lens - Good build quality (albeit a long way from "L" lens quality) - Light, a great "walk around" lens. Cons: - Higher priced than it should be by about 20% in my opinion - Sharpness adequate only - Contrast low. Virtually every shot requires post-processing - Small maximum aperture makes it fairly useless as a portrait lens - Moderate distortion at extremes of zoom range (although ...

Great lens. Good sharpness and wonderful perspective when you shoot at the wide angle of zoom. Makes you see things in a different perspective. Interesting angles and way of viewing your image. Would highly recommend anyone shooting landscapes, city buildings etc to go out and buy one. You will have fun.

I absolutely love this lens. With its 16-35mm equivalent coverage on APS-C Canon bodies, versatile doesn't even begin to describe how useful this lens is. I shoot lots of christenings, baptisms, birthday parties, small weddings, etc., in homes and churches where often the reception or family gathering is held in a small and crowded room with lots of activity going on. The long end of this wide angle zoom is perfect for natural looking portraits and the wide end allows me to capture ...

This is an amazing lens for landscape photography. It is incredibly sharp, and it focuses fast and silently. Distortions are there, but pretty typical for ultra-wide lenses, just need to use them to your advantage. Here is an example taken at 10mm: http://danielchen.smugmug.com/Portfolio/Iconic-Chicago/22366720_ZDdfzs#!i=1787493931&k=6hrC3g5&lb=1&s=A Problems: I sometimes wish it could be faster (say, go to a f2.8), for indoor photography purposes. Lens hood must be purchased separately.
