Hello, I'm relatively new to photography owning a few compact cameras and would like some advice on which bridge camera to buy. I have been mainly looking at the Canon sx50 hs, Fujifilm X-S1 and the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ200. I predominantly want this camera to take action skiing/mountain photos and video, while working winter seasons (and surfing photos). I was wondering if anyone had knowledge on how any of these perform in snowy conditions or if you had any advice for other cameras?...

Hello, I have a canon sx50 hs model and I love it. But now when I take any picture when I zoom in AFTER TAKING IT to see it it's kinda bad and the pixels  show. It wasn't like this when I first got it. And in the settings the picture quality is set to L which is the best option. I am using Auto mode.A friend suggested it has something to do with the ISO but I don't know how's that possible when I am using Auto. Any suggestions?

Has anyone noticed that the LCDs on the Powershots can have strange colors? We have an S100 and an SX 50hs, both are recent acquisitions from the Canon refurb shop. On both of them dark purple becomes royal blue on the LCD. The images are correct. My T4i LCD renders the colors much closer to actual. --Bikerguy

I am testing a Canon SX50 HS. I want to confirm whether the Canon SX50 can be quickly zoomed in to 200 X without stop or it will stop at 100 X?

Hey all, My employer has just gifted me with a Canon Powershot SX50 HS for my 20th anniversary working with them! I'm kindof a novice when it comes to photography, although it's something that I've always wanted to get into. Sadly, I've pretty much been confined to the camera of my iPhone for the last few years. Anyhow - I've just unpacked the SX50 and I'd appreciate any pointers or advice regarding its usage. I'm reading through the Camera and Photography basics articles on this site, but...

Hi all. New to the forum - seems like a great place to get info. We have a very old digital camera, and it is time to upgrade. We are new to the all great features on the later cameras, and mostly want something to take pictures of grandkids, and for vacations. As long as I am doing it, though, I want to get this camera for a special occasion. I am traveling to Florida later this year to watch the launch of a spacecraft that I have been working on for several years. The observation area is...

Would you guys recommend the Nikon L820 or the Canon SX50 for taking pictures of mountain gorillas and other animals in low-light conditions?  We're headed to Uganda for a couple of weeks to go on safari and unfortunately can't afford to spend more than $400.  Any input that you can provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Dana

I have been thinking of either the Canon SX50 HS or the Panasonic FZ200 at this time. Which would give a clearer picture at full zoom under moderate light? Are there others that would be a better choice? Are Telephoto Conversion Lens very good with either of these cameras?

Hi! I've been struggling for about 4 months to purchase a new camera. I have a competitive dancer/singer/theatre kid who needs me to take pics of movement in low light, non-flash situations.  And my theatre group would love me to take dress rehearsal pics. I have a indoor/outdoor soccer playing, high jump, discus throwing, indoor swim diving son who plays in bright sunlight and pouring rain, and school gymnasiums. I am a scrapbooker who wants to print crisp clear 4x6's to preserve my...

I need an ultra zoom camera and have narrowed it down to the Canon SX50 HS or the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ70. I have only ever had a Canon or Olympus and still have the original 2mp Camedia C-700 - one of the best ultra zooms every produced. Unfortunately, 2mp just doesn't cut it anymore. The new ultra zoom will be in addition to a Canon 60D, but I don't want to take it on an upcoming trip to Europe. The price of the two that I have selected is within $30 of each other, but I do have to...
