Would someone please explain to me why NON-DSLRs seem to have more shutter lag than their SLR relatives? Since SLRs usually have a mirror that must move out of the light path, it makes no sense to me that they have a shorter shutter lag. I currently have a Canon T3i with Sigma 18-250; a combination that I love.  BUT, as I get older, I get a terrible backache from having any significant weight on my neck or shoulders.  I would like to replace this camera + lens, for traveling purposes, with a...

I do a fair amount of travelling so I take photos of exteriors (i.e., cities, buildings, etc) and interiors (inside churches, museums, etc.). I'm looking for a good P&S camera in the $300 to $400 price range.  I've narrowed my list down to: COMPACT CAMERAS: CANON POWERSHOT S120CANON POWERSHOT S95CANON POWERSHOT SX260 HSCANON POWERSHOT SX700 HSPANASONIC LUMIX DMC-LX7PANASONIC LUMIX DMC-ZS20PANASONIC LUMIX DMC-ZS40PANASONIC LUMIX DMC-ZS50S SLR-LIKE (BRIDGE) CAMERAS: CANON POWERSHOT SX50...

Hi, So there's a piece of dust that managed to get inside the lens of my trusty SX260 - isn't that the most annoying thing on earth?  I had my original one from October 2012 until June 2013 when I was at a wedding and someone was taking a picture of me a the rehearsal dinner and dropped it on the stone patio...and my jaw dropped with it.  I had to run to Target that night and get an SX280, which I didn't love, especially after reading all the reviews on it.  Target said I could return it no...

How can I download a video taken on my Canon PowerShot SX260 HS to a folder such as My Pictures so that I can access it and attach it in an e-mail to friends and family?  I am able to download the digital still images without any problem, but have not been able to download the videos.

I have a Canon Powershot SX260 HS with lens cover leaves which stopped functioning which prevents the camera from taking pictures. Can anyone suggest what is wrong with it and what it takes to fix it? The camera was purchased about 15 months ago and worked perfectly for about a year. It was always kept in a soft zippered case so it should have had minimal exposure to dust.

Hello, I have been having such a difficult time trying to decide on this simple "Point and Shoot" pocket size Digital Camera. :( My current camera is that small but now a bit bulky Canon Power Shot SD600 Digital ELPH (3x zoom, 6.0 MP) which served me well. I need more zoom and decided to up grade for everyday use, shows and concert venues, Travel and family, etc. The following are important to me : 1) Zoom 2) Battery Life 3) Shake / hand stable control 4) Low Light capability 5) Price around...

Hi, I am at the moment looking at buying a new pocket camera and I just noticed that there is two Canon SX260 HS "versions" the apparently old one: 5900B011 and new 5900B019 - the pricing in danish currency 1225DKK and the new 1700DKK.My question is: Is there any difference in the cameras? And I don't really understand why they have two prices. :S

i own a new Canon PowerShot SX260 HS.  i took pictures in a restaurant where the light was low and people were moving.  i shot at Mode Scene Low Light, Auto Exposure, Auto Focus, no Flash (i always avoid Flash), shutter speed 1/8, f/3.5, focal length 5-6mm, ISO 1600, no tripod.  most of these pictures came out blurred.  how do i balance the need for a wide aperture for low light vs the need for a quicker shutter speed to stop the motion?  what are the best settings to use for this situation?...

Hi, I used my PowerShot SX260 HS to take video of an outdoor music peformance. I stood about 100m from the stage, and the sound was not so loud. When I played the recording the sound was terribly distorted... It was as if the sound was too loud for the camera and it had to "clip" it. The camera is quite new, I never took videos with loud sound (all others I took were fine). Doesn't the camera have some kind of AGC (Automatic Gain Control) technology? Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I'd be...
