Canon PowerShot SX230 HS

I know this camera is a bit long in the tooth at this point, but it's widely traded on Ebay so if you're in the market for a travel zoom you can still get it (cheaply too).  So maybe this will help you bargain shoppers... I admit I swap out my side belt camera (camera I take everywhere!) about every year, 2 years at the most....I love trying out new pocket cameras. I've used the G10 (Lovely shots but too heavy for your belt or pocket.) Some Panasonic super zoom cameras (the images were fuzzy usually.), and super small Elph cameras by Canon. I bought this model last year, and it's the best camera to use if you are planning to have one camera to take photos in all situations: parties, events, music shows, beach and all others. The Canon PowerShot SX230HS has almost everything I could ever want in a pocket camera. A great camera for an all- round compact. Took a while to get used to the focussing lag - HOWEVER - Despite lowering LCD brightness and switching off GPS I am often getting only 60 exposures from a fully charged battery... I carry 2 batteries - and am getting perhaps 100 to 120 exposures... I often take3 to 400 a day I am reverting to my SX with AA batteries... VERY disappointing...

I bought this camera as an upgrade to my Wife's reliable Panasonic TZ7. The TZ7 was carried in my pocket for years traveling abroad. Bought the SX230HS after reading DP review's favourable comments. Lens guard developed dimples after 4days of use. Won't completely close. If you press, gently on it, it feels like paper. The cover over the lens won't completely close so its back in the shop. Luckily I had a all hazards warranty. Made mistake of putting it in front pants pocket with the strap attached. Guess the strap dented it. GPS would not lock on in the middle of the back yard (15 minutes on a stool) where a Garmin will lockup in 2 minutes. Does fiend GPS in middle of Best Buy ...

Ich kaufte mir diese Kamera auf c5 appararat super, schöne Fotos zu ersetzen, auch bei ISO 800 nicht zamylivaet auf Ihrem Gesicht! Problems: Das Gerät ist sehr schön, funktional, auch die Qualität der Fotos an der Spitze! Ich empfehle!
