I have this camera since last year, upgraded from a S3 IS. I was expecting that Canon must solved some problems but not, they continue the same. Under low light conditions - if you arent under a bright cloudy day - the precision of the focusing is very weak if you are using the zoom among 10x. If your subject also is walking in/out your direction the focusing also dont works well because its slow. I noticed also a lack of sharpness on the edges of the field when using the zoom, at average ...

Just got the camera today, taking some test shots... * reasonable picture quality (can not compare with DSLR) * camera construction is OK * slow focus in low light will update more in a week. Problems: * NO LENS THREAD FOR FILTER AT ALL * LENS CAN NOT BE PROTECTED BY ANY FILTER.

This camera CAN turn out a lovely photo, BUT, since I've had it (1000+ photos) at least 5% of the photos hae come out with a 2-3 degree tilt on them. I don't know if it is the viewfinder (I don't use the back screen) or the physical shape of the camera, but even with the gridlines in the display shooting against a clear horizon and a degree of attention turning to obsession, I still get back home and find loads of shots needing photoshopping straight again. The viewfinder is rubbish mind you: ...

+ Zoom is fine + manual activation of built in flash is ok Problems: - does not show Battery standing ... (camera stops activities within seconds after a short flash) .....the cheapest mobile phone does better! - No real thread on the lens (for accessories?) - manual focussing is very boring

I upgraded from the S2 IS and there are some great new features. My favorites being the new 28mm-560mm lens and the addition of ISO 3200 for low light. Even as an upgrade from another IS model there is a definite learning curve that I'm still struggling with after 3 weeks of use. Problems: I'm HUGELY disappointed that Canon did not see fit to provide a means to use a filter such as a UV filter to protect the lens. Particularly since they also did not provide any way to attach the lens cap ...

I purchased this camera one week ago. I currently own a PowerShot Pro1 that I have used constantly since early 2005. I didn't want to upgrade to an SLR because of the weight of the camera & lenses. We like walking. I love the 20 optical zoom on the SX10 IS and it is light weight. I love the image stabilizing which I didn't have before. So far I am happy with the image quality, but a little grainy in low light. Problems: I am disappointed with the manual focus wheel which is very fiddly and ...

Excellent image quality - the zoom coupled with the Digiac 4 processor and the IS of the in body really is impresssive. It is impossible to belive that this camera can take pictures that just a few years back requried a 35mm crop sensor SLR. Mucho Bang for the Buck!!!
