The Canon PowerShot SX10 IS is an excellent 10 MP point-and-shoot with a powerful optical zoom and an excellent wide angle for close-up shots. The manual control gives the camera excellent options for creative photography. I had this camera for two days, and then returned it!.. And, I had waited many months for this camera to be available. Problems: Not only did I dislike the "wheel" but it also didn't function well. It seems to me to be defective. Another thing I disliked was this camera's "ergonomics"... I've had quite a few other Canon cameras that were very user friendly right from the start. We replaced my wife's S3 IS with the SX10 and it is a worthwhile upgrade if you're a fan of this line like we are. It is a bit larger but still light and compact compared to a DSLR. The increase in lens range is nice and they changed the lens cap to an internal design that doesn't pop off when you turn it on. I can't remember if the S5 is this way? I am impressed with the image quality and image stabilization. I really like the flip monitor. Great camera. I have no affiliation with Canon or seller other than being just a customer. Problems: None so far.
