This Camera is really good for a beginner like me.Ultra compact, 4x Zoom,Auto detection of different shooting modes, HDMI video recording are the best featues. It is smaller than my mobile phone. This camera will do good for a beginner who loves photography. Video is too good from such an ultra device. Options are striaght forward so even the first time camera users can learn it to use it wisely. At last my investment was not at a bad one. Face detection and blink detection works good. Interf ...

Excellent walk-around camera, easily sits in your pocket. I chose this camera over ixus 110, because it has larger screen(2.7" vs 2.5") and thus does not have that useless viewfinder. Very good photo quality(if there is enough light). Problems: Contra: 1) very, very weak battery. I made one short clip and circa 70 shots and the battery was drained completely. it is a must to have a spare accu. 2) camera doesnt keep previously configured settings 3) flimsy, if not fragile door for HDMI out 4) ...

This camera DOES NOT have a "Superfine" jpeg mode as the details say. It has Fine and Normal only. I actually compared the output from the Ixus120 with an old Ixus30, which does Superfine, and the image results are literally -the same- in terms of noise and jpeg artifacting. The difference is that the Ixus120 produces smaller files. The trend and choice of leaving better quality compression out, keeping a consistent "not better quality level than this" in Canon's ultra compacts is no doubt bu ...

Disappointing handling and construction. I've been a Ixus 70 user so far and I very much appreciated its handling, which had been outstanding! Supposing the Ixus 120 still had the same advantages as far as handling is concerned, I must admit the Ixus 120 is pretty disappointing. Buttons are pretty hard to push (this is really disappointing for daily use) and after two weeks of use the zoom crank is blocked and needed to be repaired. Concerning the menu, it seems the only development of Canon ...

This is a really good little camera! The color is outstanding, the sharpness is good (could be a bit better), and the menus are (fairly) straightforward. Lots of bells and whistles in such a small package, which translates to lots of flexibility. I took pictures in Amsterdam and sent them to friends - they thought I'd dragged my full-blown DSLR getup with me. Not bad for an ultra-compact. Problems: The on-off button is hard to press. Image quality is better at 8Mp than at 12Mp.
