Great little camera. I have 3 Canon's and this is my best one. Nice small package, but pack a big photographic punch. Problems: None.

After using several digital camera's including from panasonic, nikon and Advent I would say that this is the best compact camera I have used. Image quality is excellent, it has lots of features, build is excellent and it looks stunning. The only thing that is not so good is that the zoom is only 3x, however image quality is good enough to allow you to crop your images without loss of quality. Bought mine for £150 from PC world. Problems: Nothing.

Let me start by saying that I sold my A720IS to obtain the SD790IS. Very happy I did! I had made my research on pocket cams and the SD790IS came in highly recommended everywhere! Battery is beyond what I expected. Canon states 320 pics on one charge. I took aprox 220 which 70% of those using the flash. Power on/off at least 50 times. Took long vids between 1 to 5 minutes. Played with the setup menus a very long time on top of all that. LCD on all the time during those tests and it ...

Great shots for the price!!! I bought this camera after returning a Fujifilm J150w (see my review there for comparison). All I was looking for was a simple camera with a big LCD and good picture quality. This has all of those things, and for the money you can't go wrong. I went with the 790 even though the 880 and 890 were available. I did this based on the reviews on this website. There were a lot of complaints that the 880 took blurry pictures, and Rick Fuchs review on the 890 scared me ...

This is an excellent all around pocket camera. Very durable, quick to start up, picture quality is excellent, colors vibrant but not overly saturated. The screen and buttons are well placed and designed. Avi movies are memory hogs, but they look so much better on the computer screen than the mpg4 or qt movies do. In the last 12 years I have had a olympus, casio, nikon, 2 other canons, panasonic, samsung, 2 sonys. I can honestly say this is the best over all point n shoot pocket camera I ...

I have had quite a few small cameras from the S400, SD870 and Fuji F20 & F30 but this is by far my favorite carry anytime pocket camera. The low light capabilities may not be quite as good as the Fuji's but it beats them soundly in daylight shots and I like the colors and clarity much better Problems: The movie, scene, shot selector gets moved when sliding in and out of the case. I have tried to take a still picture in movie mode a few times.

This camera is my 3rd point and shoot and its fantastic in terms of handling - both physical and digital. The body is metal - feels and looks durable - and the weight of the camera feels good in my hand and is not as light/flimsy as other ultra-compact point & shoots. The color treatment of my shots are excellent. Vivid mode does a great job and makes everything look really vibrant - perfect for cloudy gray days! I always leave the mode on Manual because I like to have some control on its ...

Just got new SD 790IS. I've owned SD700, 800, 850(still have). Two main reason to get 790 are: (1) larger LCD. All three other P'n S have viewfinders but I seldom use it at all. (2) better focusing capability. SD 850 has problem focusing at very low light with close objects with little contrast. Even it can focus, it takes a long time. SD 790 excel in these two areas. I am very happy with the initial testing results! The chiseled metallic shape really cool, better than the curved 850 ...

This is my 4th digital camera and so far it's the best I ever had. My first was awfull Olympus mju... Olympus never, ever again. After that I bought Sony W1 which was a little bit bulky but It made sone really awesome pictures and my sister is still usin' it. I went for Sony again, Sony W90 since I wanted slimmer camera and I had great time with my last one but unfortunatelly I was disappointed a lot. Pic quality was really bad in comparison to my old W1. All that time I knew and everybody ...

Love this little camera. Great color rendition and it takes great pictures almost every time. The build quality is excellent with the all metal body. I was kinda skeptical but after reading the reviews, I picked up the camera from Costco. Nice pictures in auto mode and video. I still need to go through the manual but this camera is a little gem. Problems: None so far.
