Opinion: I have had Fuji, canon s45 and casio s770. My new camera canon sd770 is the best camera i ever had. This camera is awesome in good light and in low light, the pics are crisp and clear with vivid natural colors. The pics that I've taken are all beautiful, if there is a little blurriness in them it is only my mistake. So if you need a camera that easily hides in your pocket and takes gorgeous photos buy this one. I paid for mine $229.95 on Amazon.com

Problems: No problems at all (*_*)

Opinion: I don't usually submit reviews but this little camera is exceptional. I've had numerous digital cameras over the years from a G5 when I started to a G9 just recently (and many in between) but I have to say this little SD770 is very special. If you are looking for a high quality ultra compact camera, & don't need a wide angle lens, then this is a great choice.

Problems: No problems as of yet.

Opinion: As a professional photographer, I use pro Nikon DSLRs in my work every day. However, when I go out to a restaurant in the evening, I usually don't like carrying around monster size cameras and 20 pounds worth of gear to shoot a snapshot. The people I am with also don't like me to turn the restaurant into a production studio either.

So I bought the Canon 770 IS just to take snapshots that have high image quality, and I couldn't be happier. I can carry this camera easily in my jean's pocket and it's with me when I want it. All its images are tach sharp and well exposed with nicely saturated colors.

I have printed a few at 11 x 14 and the details are gorgeous, although you definitely have to use Superfine resolution to keep the artifacts at bay. This bumps your file size to around 5 MB per 10 MP image.

I normally leave the resolution at Fine, and this will print without objectionable artifacts to about 8 x 10 with file sizes of about 2.5 MB for each 10 MP image.

This is strictly a point and shoot camera, with almost no manual adjustments, and that is what I want for snapshots.

It does allow adjustments to ISO and there are numerous scene modes to select from, but for what I want the Auto mode works just great. It also has a Hi ISO Auto mode that works well for indoor snaps. Noise is well controlled to about ISO 400.

The IS (Image Stability) function works well allowing sharp images even at 1/4 sec shutter (with steady hands). This allows indoor available light that I never expected possible with such a small camera.

3X optical zoom is pretty uninspiring for a camera like this, but the digital zoom (essentially in-camera cropping) works well with the 10 MP images. When you zoom, it stops at 3X optical, and then you push it a second time to get it to continue into the digital zoom. It will digital zoom to 12X. Again - great for snapshots.

The video modes also work well, and it will zoom while shooting.

This camera will never replace a DSLR with an external flash, but it sure does a nice job on snapshots.

Problems: Now that I have owned this camera for more than a year, one problem has surfaced. I normally carry it in my pocket, and the viewfinder has filled up with dust and is unusable. I tried to use it the other day outside in light too bright to see the display, and I simply couldn't see through all the dust. I'm sure it can be cleaned, but I have no idea what the cost would be.

In case you are wondering, the lens and lens closure has remained dust-free, so it still takes great pictures (for its size).

Opinion: Excellent easy to use camera, auto mode suitable foralmost all situations. Can have long exposures like 10s for night photography. Excellent picture quality. The print button can be configured for other useful purposes.

Problems: Some of the useful shooting modes are selected by going through second level menu.(Through DISP button)
AWB is not accurate always, but manual override is available.
Slightly expensive compared to similar models, but the picture quality talks for itself.
