Opinion: We have at home the d2x and d200 of nikon, We also have 2 SLR like cameras, but all I wanted in this period of life is to KEEP IT SIMPLE as can be, and have always on me my shick camera.
I bought it in the duty free 6 mounth ago, on my wey to Istanbul. The first shut was in Taksim squere. It was snowing, and my camera sliped from my hands, with the zoom lence tele opened. It fell, right on it's tele, on the rocky road. I stood shaking and was sure I managed to rack my camera before using it even a first time.
It turned to be O.K!
Here is the bottom line:
•It’s easy to use. I gave it to a 67 years old man, a 3 years old lady, they managed it.
•It’s a power economized camera
•It has a strong body- god knows It been threw a lot
•I’ve already took 9888 pictures with it. Seems to be reliable
•I like its colors and quality. The pictures are very vivid.
•As I wanted, it is compact and its with me all day long.
•Inside closed darken places the results are very good. And lets say it- the digital photography is almost there, to find solutions for indoor photography, but not yet!
Problems: •it’s tele lance is not enough, but this is a paradox for a compact quality camera
•Sometimes I get not sharp enough results.
•Its automatic white balance sometimes “burns” areas
I believe it's The best valued camera.
Opinion: In Asia, this is known as Canon IXUS 65. To be honest, I'm glad they use IXUS instead of Powershot. The Powershot logo is ugly.
This is a very good camera. Big LCD, however, the color is not as good as the Panasonic FX9. That is when viewing the subject you're going to take pics of. It's very pale. The Panasonic's LCD is very vivid. Apart from that, overall, a very good point and shoot camera.
Problems: None so far.
Opinion: I am the owner of Canon Rebel XT (D350) and I use it for "real" photography. In my everyday life, I often came upon interesting scenes where I wished I had my camera.
Since I own this camera, I bring it with me everywhere. It comes on fast, is excellent in low light environment and the flash delivers what should be expected.
I owned a Pentax Optio S5 and I hated it. It was slow coming on, it had a very hard time focusing in low light and broke as soon as my kids touched it.
I dropped my SD630 and it does not even show. I love this little camera - goog job Canon.
Problems: My fingers often get in front of the flash, which is to be expected with a camera this size.
Opinion: Great all-round camera, mostly because of it's compact size and 3" screen. Got a great bargain as well with a spare battery, 2GB SD card and a nice solid case and a mini tripod. Can't go wrong really.
The pictures are very good and the video mode is very good too.
Problems: No battery indicator, which is a huge drawback, unless you have a couple of spare batteries or are close to a power point to re-charge the battery.
Opinion: I bought this camera to replace the very disapointing casio Id gotten for Xmas, and i couldnt be happier. The image quality is outstanding, ease of use is amazing and the 3 inch screen is just awsome. The best point and shoot camera ive come across....by a country mile
Problems: There no anti-shake, but who cares...you can easily tell on a 3 inch screen if the image come out a little blurry, becides that this camera is awsome
Opinion: Great little camera to put in your pocket. Good Image quality and GREAT 3" LCD.
Everything you would expect from a canon.
Problems: Battery life is poor (160 shots) Limited manual controls. Not - so - easy to navigate
through scene modes and menu.
Opinion: I was impressed by my friend's SD550 that came out last year and was looking for a small digicam that can shoot decent pics and movies. The salesman suggested an A630 which is similar in price but with 8 MP. It has good reviews but I was a little put off by its size and the plasticky look. This little SD630 gem looks much better built; although not as nice as the SD550/900 series;it feels quite solid in the hand with an elegant simple design. The 3 inch screen is simply fantastic; you could probably watch a movie on it, and it is far superior to my video iPod. Dispite the big 3 inch screen, the camera is deceptively small. It is smaller than a Pentax Optio X that I also have by a whole inch! The only thing smaller in this class would be an Exlim.
The camera fits nicely in your pocket , being half the size of my PDA and hardly bigger than my phone.
And yes, it does take nice pictures too, not as good as the SD550 but much better than the Pentax Optio X and way better than a Nikon S4 (which I returned). The movie mode is smooth and creamy, at 640x480/30fps; it is almost as good as our camcorder.
I think this is a keeper
Problems: No battery indicator until the battery is almost dead!
No manual controls
Touch dial is a bit small, but like the iPod style interface
Flimsy battery door and lens cover
Short battery life
Hard to focus in dim light
Opinion: PROS
Very quick in taking shots, minimal delay.
Very light.
Very compact.
Large LCD screen.
Simple interface, especially for Canon users.
Problems: CONS
Two design disappointments: materials feel and look rather cheap, the metal is replaced by plastic. The battery protection cap feels like it'll break off immediately...
Black plastic rear instead of silver steel. A cosmetic con, matter of taste, but definitely a difference you should be aware of before buying.
Photo-cons: like the old IXUS versions, the 65 also has trouble with evening light when you shut off the flash. Especially when there is a lot of yellowy lamplight; the images become blurry and extremely yellow.
In bright light the photos tend to lack contrast, and lightly coloured areas might look bleak.
Evening with flash: human skin turns out much whiter than with older IXUS cameras.
Opinion: Great 3 inch screen. Fast picture taking. Clear pictures. Better than any Sony that i've had. We bought our daughter one for x-mas.
Problems: I can't seem to get rid of red-eye. Even with red-eye reduction turned on. Some pictures i took at my best friends wedding, everyone on the dance floor were all lit up with brite red eyes. Dissappointing really.
