Opinion: I bought this 06 model this week as a replacement for a Canon A610 that my wife "Lost". She wanted a smaller camera for her purse and this was a nice option on paper from last years SD 4 and 5 series models. It features enough manual control for a novice and the new ISO high feature in the auto mode is a helpfull feature for limiting flash use. The images are as expected for Canon Digic II. Not quite as good as the A610 but for the lens in use what you would expect. Post processing sharpening in CS2 helped. the colors are fairly natural as per Digic II standards. The metal construction should hold uo nicely and the door for the battery & SD card is functional and easy to use. The door to the USB cable is better than the flimsy plastic on the A610 but is still not a true hinging piece and is a bit awkward to hold open and plug in the USB. All in all the battery and charger are a good combination with 1.5 hr recharge times and the charger is as small as the camera and will fit in a purse nicely along with the Camera. Another reason I bought this model is the 2.5 LCD with the manual viewfinder option, still needed in bright natural light. The video mode works well with resonable audio pick-up, slightly better than the A610. A good value for the $325,00 price considering you don't need to buy a charger and AA lithiums. Reccomended when size is more important than top image quality. About as best as both worlds as available without spending to much. I doubt the $500.00 SD 700 IS will take better pictures.

Problems: Cable door is solid but awkward. Operation flawless

Opinion: Very small camera with a high quality image, easy to use, and a very good LCD display. The new feature, allows you to change an image colour without you computer. Very good for beginners.

Problems: I thougth a camera like this had trimming function, but no, you have to use Canon software to trim your pictures.

Opinion: I bought this camera week ago. It's nice small well built camera fits perfectly in a pocket. Very important when you going to the party and want to take quick pictures of your friends, and to dance and have a good time at the same time :)) I'm happy with the quality of image when taking photos in daylight.

Problems: But the problems start when using flash. Almost all the pictures are darker in the corners. And it does really look bad!!! Maybe it's because the flash isn't strong enough but to be honest I didn't have this problem with IXUS 430 (I was very happy with this camera). I use cameras mainly during parties at night so good flash performance, and good quality of night shots is most important for me. As I said before I was using IXUS 430 and it was perfect but IXUS 60 is not good camera. My advice-don't buy it.

Opinion: I bought the SD600 to replace my old camera (Canon S400). I like the new design it's nice and small. The 2.5 inch LCD monitor can also be used outdoors. It has a lot of features but still easy to use. Overall it's a good quality camera.

Problems: The pictures with flash are not nice, the flash creates a shadow and the pictures are darker in the corners.

There is allways a slight blur present in wide-angle shots, you have to zoom in lightly to prevent it.

I was much happier with my S400 (even with the slower response time).
