Easy to use and get decent quality provided you have ample light. Performance is not stellar but this is a point-and-shoot camera. Decent camera, but there are better available. Problems: Bad high ISO performance. As with most P&S cameras, the flash performance is not very good. Battery performance is abysmal. Less than 100 shots, even without flash, are the norm.

Small in sizes, easy to handle, good startp speed. images' color looked real. Problems: No IS, therefore, easily take blur photos. Background is often dark when taken indoor photo with flash. Human Faces looked mildy soft in quality. Dynamic range of photo image needed to improve.

I am using this APN since Dec. 2005 and still happy with it. I am using also with WP-DC80 waterproof case for scuba diving. It's a good and not so expensive solution for underwater pictures. Macro could be better Problems: None for the time being. However, some improvement could be done: - no UMS (USB Mass Storage) ; you must have Canon software. It's a miss when you travel and want to connect another PC. - no Flash Power Adjustment (Low, Medium, High) - no Battery Management. You don't have ...

The SD550 is a well constructed, idiot proof point and shoot camera. If you are looking for manual controls, keep right on going, and look at the A, S or G series models. Pictures are very well exposed, the flash is about double the normal strength of a camera in this class, and it's a rather stylish, too. It will deliver the goods time and time again, and makes a nice complement to a dSLR, or a standalone unit. Novices will do just fine with it. Again, if you have ANY interest in shutter ...

My old Powershot S400 was damaged in checked luggage (traveling during the last terrorist scare), so I needed to get a new camera. I picked up the IXUS 750 in the middle of our tour. Besides the obvious 4->7MP change, some nice upgrades from the old camera - awesome battery life, much less shutter delay and power-on delay. That nice, big LCD screen. The simplified controls - preview/picture-taking switch moved to the main mode dial, less buttons is a good thing. The ISO button is nice. The ...

I have had this SD550 for 9 months now as a second camera. It gets stunning results with a little care in a wide range of situations. I wish it had more manual control capabilities but Canon has done a great job on this little gem. Long battery life, excellent colors and resolution, solid construction, excellent movie qulaity, powerful flash Problems: Camera shake a problem for me in low light - red eye removal editing often necesary.

I bought this camera for a walk around camera,it fits into my shirt pocket.I have some other canon models, wanted this one because of the sensor size 1/1.8,7.1MP's.The 2.5 inch LCD is very easy to see in the daylight,it has an execellent macro.I already have an SD20 so the batterys are the same.Id buy this camera again in a heart beat.I've already taken over a 1000 pictures with it in a couple weeks.Regards a Happy user-Bob. Problems: None.

What can i say? this camera is absolutely awesome, i still own an old powershot s400 which i still use underwater. but there is no comparison with the features, images and even battery life. and the movie mode has to be seen to be beleived. that was the major reason i upgraded as i was quite happy with my s400's pictures. with a 150X 2Gig SD card, everything flies. Highly recommended. waiting to see how well the Image Stabilaisation works on the newer models before i change my mind. even ...

Very nice looking easy to use & hold camera. The photos in good light and with the flash are great. My issue is that when not using the flash in medium lighting conditions the pictures are rubbish with camera shake. The photos are all blurred & wasted. I upgraded to this camera from the IXUS 500 and never had this problem. I intend to sell soon and buy a camera with optical imagestabiliser, which this camera should have been released with. Problems: Camera shake in medium light conditions & ...
