This camera is a deception in day light....images are soft especially on 2.0 aperture. Colours are good but details are not good at all....no issue for a 10 x 15 cm print but as soon as you increase size of picture, then you just see that picture is not crispy (is it something which is due to sensor type or subject to eventual futur update?) When dark is coming, then the camera starts to give much better results. You can get up to 1 600 iso with real good colour and almost invisible noise ...

In my opinion the Canon SD700 IS beats the SD 4000 in daylight shots hands down. I am disappointed and will be returning this camera and keeping my SD700 for snapshots. I think the combination of 10mp in same size sensor was a mistake. The sensors in both SD700 and SD4000 are almost exactly the same size, the CMOS vs. CCD I would expect better, but I think they tried to cram too many pixels into small sensor, then...and combined with the fact that the SD4000 in auto mode will try and ...
