Opinion: This is a great camera for what it is. If you seek small, simple and fast you won't be dissappointed. I would not recommend it as a first camera, as it is limited in features, but you can't beat it for small size, fast operation, and carrying when you wouldn't otherwise carry a camera. The image quality meets or beats my Canon G1, except with flash, and then the SD10 only suffers because the flash is necessarily very small. The tripod mount is solid, metal, and in the right spot. The long shutter speeds are more than long enough. The camera does a good job of hiding its size in your hands, it doesn't feel "too small" like the Optio S4. There is enough camera to hang on to securely without covering any sensors or lights. The menus are intuitive (well, for Canon users anyway ;-). The on/off is positive, should be immune to accidental on/offs, and is located correctly. The LCD is adequate for composing even in direct sunlight.

Problems: The shutter button is fairly stiff, so it is easy to get camera shake unless you oppose your finger and thumb so you are squeezing the camera to trip the shutter, that usually prevents it. Also, the 2sec. self timer is a handy workaround and allows better handholding in low light. The flash is weak, but how could it not be at this size? The auto white balance is usually fooled by tungsten lights (as it is on my G1), but that's why there is a tungsten setting, and it's right on to my eyes. The long shutter speeds are a bit of a hassle, as you have to enter a special mode to use them - having them seemlessly available would be better
My only other complaints are the lack of raw output, the lack of manual control, and the absence of a small cleaning cloth in the box - the finish attracts finger prints, and on a small jewelry-style camera, a cloth would have been a nice touch ;-)

Opinion: I love it! It's small, looks great, easy to handle. Image quality is great. Also the macro performance is exellent. It is so tiny that it fell out of my hands, no problem! Backlight pictures with low sunlight and fill-in flash are very nice. Good build, good monitor. I have it always with me. I don't mind working with a wide-angle lens. But a GOOD zoomlens can have advantages. Portrets with the Ixus I need to be cropped. Digital zoom is for marketing purpases or if you print direct without a computer. The small lens is good, low distortion.
There is some chromatic abberation but not more then e.g the 400. I did'nt messure it but the battery life is above average. I have a black camera, looks good, but the "piano"finish needs to be cleaned from fingerprints all te time.

Problems: I can't find the case in the Netherlands!
