Opinion: Perfect little go anywhere ready for everything camera. Have mine for about a year, when ever I don't feel like carrying my SLR, my S95 is in my pocket, always wanted a tiny powershot with RAW file output. Slightly larger sensor provides images better then normal point and shoot cameras. Wish the lens was little faster and GPS was added.
Opinion: small, well build camera, with nice controls. Starts fast, responsive..
good camera for portraits and low light photography.
Problems: -overexposed photos at 0.0 ev, needs at least -1ev correction.
-crisp clear images at 28mm but soft images from 50 to 105 mm. Dissapointing.
-good video quality but no zoom during filming.
Opinion: Imho the best that can be actually EDC-d and can ride on your belt to be there whenever you need it. As normally thats a cellphone for everyone its miles better. On the other hand its a compact. A good one but compact. No shallow dof, above iso800 its useless Crappy f5.6 on tele end and so on... I am not really satisfied with it but its not its fault. I hate compacts.
Wide end F2 is nice tho and indoors you rarely need more so f2 with iso 800 you can get away with quite a number of situations.
Problems: Its not a fullframe with fixed 50 1.4 with the same size...
Opinion: I bought this camera to take underwater photos, changing from a G12 sold to a friend who was going to a two months trip in Africa.
I use an Ikelight housing which fits very nice to the camera. I felt a bit confusing in a first moment with the command buttons which are very different from G12 or any other DSLR that I am used to use.
I recommend this machine for beginners or pleople who is running away from weight in diving trips...
