Ergonomics are poor. When I hand it over to someone else to take a shot they regularly hit the mode dial instead of the exposure. Larger hands do not hold this steadily. I usually use two hands. Image quality is fantastic. Better ISO handling then my G9 - images look great in all areas. It excels at indoor night shots. Even in automatic mode it rarely uses the flash due to it prefering high iso with a large aperture. I am still unsure if I prefer the G9/G11 over this. I like to be able ...

The S90 won't replace your SLR system but used within its limitations it is capable of taking very high quality photos. The beauty is that it can be slipped in a pocket or hung on your belt and you don't even know you've got it. It's a fantastic complement to an SLR system and in many situations the image quality will be just as good. I've had mine now for about four months. For more thoughts and sample images see: http://phil.uk.net/photography/canon_powershot_S90.html Problems: The rear ...

Fine little beast. Solidly built, pleasingly plain appearance, class-leading image quality particularly in low light and all the manual controls you could want in a tiny compact. Compromises have to be made on a camera this small and Canon seems to have gone the right way on all of them. If I had some recommendations they would probably be to go further still, e.g. * drop the pixel density even lower, I'd be happy with 6MP or so if it would reduce noise * smaller screen would be fine to make ...

i like this camera a lot, it is a lot of fun to use. the flash placement and easily moving little wheel in the back make ergonomic a tad challenging, but the camera definitely rewards with very good picture quality for the class. is it a P&S from another world? no. is it very rewarding to take pictures with? definitely. i should note that despite the fast lens legend i find myself keeping the ISO under 400. usual P&S strategy, and it is not the noise that bothers me, it is the colors. the ...

I bought this camera three months back. Very soon the Canon S90 became my favorite camera, because of its very impressive image quality and great all-round performance. Problems: Very average battery performance.

Pros: Really easy to use; takes a great picture and has some neat features; the video quality is good when played on a computer (have not tried on a tv yet). Cons: price - you do get a great picture though; placement of the flash.

This in in response to mellowpauls review which I disagree with. First of all individuals who buy this camera are not interested in a megazoom. Secondly I've found corner sharpness and lens detail to be excellent for this class of camera. The CA issues on this camera are minimal compared to any camera that has been past or present manufactured by fuji and I've tried a number of them including the f200exr (which I sold on ebay) ... is it a lens issue? The g11 and s90 are the best ...
