I have had this camera now for about 6 months and I really do love it. I have been able to take pictures of my kids karate tests and actually see them break the boards where before, they were halfway back to their seat before my old Kodak would take the shot. The optical zoom is awesome. I suggest using a tripod for extreme zooming though because it's hard to hold still enough for those shots to stay centered. I am still getting used to many of the cameras features, but that's only ...

Awesome camera. Lots of setings, fits comfortably in your hand and the 12 x with IS zoom cannot be beat. Even the digital zoom is usable in good light up to about 22x. Noise at higher ISO's is tolerable for a 6 MP cam. Battery life will get you over 1000 pics on a set of NIMH AA 2700 batteries. Get this cam while it last you won't regret it. I have taken bearly 5000 pics so far and most are usable. I recently purchased an sx10 with the 20x zoom, and went back to the s3 as my workhorse ...

I just recently got this camera, and choose it over the S5. I love it. I used to have the A710 and took it back due to the flash recycling time. The S3 is very very fast, and I very happy with it. It takes great pictures, virtually no shutter lag. The menus are very easy to get around in. I am still learning all the different modes and functions, and the camera is getting better and better as it goes. I have no complaints whatsoever. I am still using the factory batteries that came with ...

Purchased the S3 camera on impulse over the Canon A630 while at Office Depot, for $320 (20% off - after Xmas sale) with a Dane-Elec 2 GB SD card (only $25 after rebate). My family shooting requirements were wide optical range, image stablilization, flexiability, small shutter lag, high quality movie capability, lightweight and small in size relative to a DSLR. Also it had to be simple enough for my wife to use. The A630 was the front runner going into Office Depot, but the S3 at the sale ...

This is a good all around cam. What amazed me is the Macro capability of this so called "P&S" cam!!! - Great controls for all around purposes. - 12x zoom is amazing. I can take a good shoot of a subject from 1-2 kilometers away. - nice image quality - flash during 0 light situation is good. And oh, you could purchase an adapter / lens (wide/teleconverter/closeup lens) for special needs. Nothing you could ask for more with its price. BEST BUY!!!! BEST BUY!!! You may look at the samples of this ...

Boguht to replace Canon Pro90is which is in excellent shape. If it is half as good will be great. Would like to be able to use UV filter without adapter.
