Sorry for my english. Experience after 7 months of use: Very good build, nice design (plastic has very good finish). Lens with IS is very good, feels very precision in fitting. Focus speed is lightning fast thank USM, especially in good light condition. Lots of settings menu and customizable button on back. Big advantage is LCD with joint. Pictures are sharp in normal light cond., espec. very nice skin tones. I was pleased with picture quality in general photographic situation. Video with ...

Very easy to use. Plenty of options for being as creative as you want. Excellent burst mode for multiple pics during fast-paced action. The zoom is incredible, compared to the Olympus 3 mp that I previously owned. Great speed for getting good pics of the kids BEFORE the smile is gone! The flash is fantastic, and makes darker indoor shots come out perfect. I really enjoy the color changes you can make before and after the shot is taken. I have not tried the movie mode, as I have a great Sony ...

I have found this camera, on balance, to be a very capable and well designed unit with excellent output. It is not for those who like to simply point and shoot however. If you spend time to learn its features and work with the creative modes you will, eventually, if not immediately, get some very fine results, considering it is not a DSLR. It handles really nicely and feels great in the hand. It does not take long for your fingers to "learn" the positions of its verious controls so that you ...

This is certainly an excellent cam. It is very solid and the controls are all in hand. It has an incredible zoom. The battery life is extra-ordinary! The "motor drive" is excellent. The grip is very good. The flip&twist screen is awesome. Problems: The sensor is to danm small, that means lots of noise! ISO over 200 is useless so in low light you forced to either use the flash or a really low speed. The lens could be more wide, like 28mm. To much contrast on the pictures so if there is you are ...

I love this camera! It looks great, feels great and you can add filters & lenses to it. I found this while looking at pocket cameras and couldn't resist getting this one too. Although, not as good of quality as a DSLR, I find that I will use this instead of mine which has a heavy 300mm lens on it. This little guy takes it way further than that. I love the endless options of features it has and it takes great pictures. Problems: None, love it.

Died within 5 days, now I'm screwed Problems: I bought this camera last week, just prior to a long trip around Asia. I used it for 3 days at my first stop, and enjoyed taking photos with it. Once or twice, when I turned it on, the viewfinder just showed dark gray static, but turning it off and back on cured it. I didn't think much of it at the time. As of today (day 5 of the trip), that's all it does, both in the viewfinder and LCD. I can vaguely see the difference between pointing it at a ...

Have only had the S3 IS a few days, but as a Canon Pro1 owner as well, I thought my initial reactions would be helpful to people trying to decide between the two. I'll get the negatives out of the way right off the bat. The LCD screen and EVF are not as good, by a lot. I haven't run into a situation where they are useless on the S3 IS yet, but I can imagine situations where they will make taking a shot a guess. However, on the plus side of that, if you can get ANY usable image in the ...

I had this camera for a few months. The use is very good, you have an ISO hard button, a direct video button, the flip LCD and so on... There are a lot of things to switch in the menues. What I liked was the "safety shift", for example, if you use shutter priority it will avoid underexposured pictures because it will correct the shutter speed. This works very well. Build quality is very good, although I have to complain about the on and off switch, this was a bit hard to move after a while. M ...

Most of the people complain about the noise. But what you've expecting from a 1/2.5" sensor. So use ISO200 for large pictures and ISO400 for small ones. Use as much as possible ISO80 and ISO100. The LCD with low resolution allows you more pictures to be taken. Maybe some person with eye problems will have trouble with it. I don't have. I am satisfied with the EVF (remember this is not a dSLR). The white balance works well and AutoWB is excellent (in a cathedral I saw difference in colors when ...
