Opinion: Overall image quality is decent. The camera is so compact and portable that many shots would otherwise be impractical or missed if you had a more elaborate system. Especiallywhen it comes to underwater photography. There simply is no cheaper way to get half-way decent shots above land and under water than with this camera. The camera has taken moderate abuse, has been dropped and taken down to 90ft of sea water and been damaged but still worked and took pictures. Very sturdy design.

Problems: image quality is poor with close subjects. The curvature of field seems very bad on some shots. Proper Underwater exposures are very difficult to achieve (through housing dome port). Canon Underwater housing rating of 100ft is incorrect. My camera's LCD finder was cracked when taken down to 90ft and had to be replaced for $150. Canon USA restored the camera to nominal operation however and haven't had problems since. Seems it should have more margin than that. Battery consumption when LCD screen is on is dismal. On camera flash is flaky at best underwater. A much more expensive and elaborate strobe setup is required to obtain decent images in an otherwise monochromatic environment

Opinion: Bought it just now in India (Chennai) after a long search online and offline....Found this pure stainless steel body very sturdy!!

Image quality is excellent Macro mode, but the AiAF captures the object in front only and discards the background completely which sounds insane. But still caught great pics!!

Flash is not too strong and not effective in night mode :-( The manual settings mode is very good and gives plenty of options. Inclusion of shutter speeds adjustment could have made a hell lot of difference!!

4 second video of 640 x 480 is totally useless even after inserting a 128MB CF card. For 10K rupees, I could have gone in for a Nikon 2200, but gave a thumbs up for this model becuase of the Li-ion battery used rather than having 2 or 4 rechargeable batteries!!

Problems: So far nothing, but will post when a problem arises :-)

Opinion: I bought this camera about 3 months ago and managed to get a great deal on it. Although the battery that comes with it is rechargeable and lasts a fair amount of time, I bought a spare when I first ordered it. I was glad I did because experienced times that I did run out of power and had a backup with me. I would also advise buying a protective case to store the camera. I also got a 128 meg card free with the " package deal " I got and am happy I did that. I was willing to buy the extra card and was lucky enough to find the deal that included it.

The video feature on this camera is actually quite amazing. I've taken 8, 25 second videos complete with audio and still had plenty of room for the high resolution pictures. I've played around with almost all the features on the camera and some are quite interesting. One that comes to mind is setting the shutter for a long exposure, turning off the flash and then doing a delayed time release....I then walked in front of the camera and got an amazing ghost shot !!

There are times when I get blurry pictures but usually it's my own fault for not paying attention to what I'm doing. I use the camera to shoot through a microscope at work and have got some great shots. You can also take a macro shot with the camera and then use the zoom feature to scale up the shot you just took using the LED screen and arrow buttons and increase the image up to see things not visible with the human eye !!!

The photostitch feature is also another remarkable addition....you can get some great landscape pictures that are an excellent panoramic rendition of several shots pasted together. This feature works well with a tripod because when you pan around you need to make sure your horizontal travel remains on a fairly even line or your end result could be a thin picture. By this I mean the software will trim the areas that don't line up and if you didn't hold steady you could lose parts of the picture you may have wanted. Don't worry though, you still are able to get excellent results even if you strayed from course !!!

Another thing I always seem to do is shoot in the high resolution mode, 1600 x 1200. With a 128 meg card you've got plenty of room. The Canon ZoomBrowser software has an email feature that allows you to compress your image effortlessly and maintain a half decent resolution. One thing to keep in mind, is to always make sure you start the software before you turn on your camera for downloading pictures to your computer. Another thing to make sure of is to always have the camera in the view mode when downloading. Turning your camera on before you load your software or having it in another mode besides view can be a pain. I've had to reboot because of problems. But if you keep alert and follow instructions you won't ever have a problem downloading.

I've loaded some pictures at www.yomma.com/y777....I continue to add onto the list and am really enjoying snapping away with this camera. I came here before I bought it and read through a lot of reviews. From there I went checking prices to get the best deal. In a nutshell, if you're looking for a camera you can stick in your pocket and go anywhere with it, look no further. This camera is hands down a winner for anyone who's never had a digital, or owned a lower quality one with few features. I give this beauty a 5 star rating !!!!!

Opinion: I have had this camera for about 4 months and already took about 2000 photos with this great little camera. I believe that I know most of its pros, cons and wanna share them. Maybe it will help you decide whether s330 is the right camera for you.
Size and weight : For me, it's about right. I also try s200 but it's too small for me to hold it with enough stability. And you'll certainly need this stability in some situtations.
Zoom 3X: 3X should be the standard for all digicam. I used to feel that zoom is not that important, but after using this cam for a while, I know that I really need it.
Photo quality:
When there is PLENTY OF LIGHT, this camera is superb! If you talk about COLOR in digicam, cannon can't be beat. The color tone of s330 is good for most cases. However, you may sometimes experience a BLUE-CAST when you are in an outdoor shade. It can be fixed easily by using photoshop though. But if you're really outside, photos are great. Images can be a little bit soft but it's very good for cameras in this size. Auto-Focusing is also fast. For overall outdoor performance, I would say I love this camera.
Low light situation is quite tricky if you use this camera. You have to learn how to use it properly to get good photos. Focusing becomes slower, especially the first time after you turn on the camera. You also need you adjust color balance to get good result. Flash works fine and prevent you from getting blurry pics. REd-eye seldom occurs with this camera but you'll likely to get it if the person doesn't look to your cam. Without flash, if you use auto mode, Photos will be fine when the objects you're shooting don't move. So if you want to avoid blurry pics, you should use either FLASH, TRIPOD or HIGHER ISO. For overall, you need to learn a bit, before getting decent pics.
To conclude this, first I like its portability and I think it's versatile enough to deal with all the situations you'll encounter. But still u need to study its fuctions a little bit. If you think you can handle this little task, this camera won't disappoint you! Trust me. :)

Opinion: After much researching online and reading countless reviews, I knew that the s330 was the camera I wanted. It was my first digital camera purchase, and it took me awhile to learn how to use the manual features. I also bought a 128mb cf card, the psc-300 case, and a pc card adapter for my laptop. Now, about 6 months and many shots later, here is my impression of this camera:

1) I really love taking my camera around; it's compact size is perfect, although with the psc-300 case it's hard to fit in a normal pocket. If you really want a pocket camera, go for the Canon s230, which also has 3 mil megapixels.
2) As for image quality, I suppose I can't complain as I knew it was only 2 mil megapixels. I don't think I've ever really been dissapointed in the image quality, but have often wished I had an extra million pixels for pictures that have many people subjects. When it's just a few people, the quality is acceptable. For sure, never use the auto settings as the auto white balance is not very accurate.
3) I was led to believe that the s330 was built solid and brick-like. However, after 5 months of use, I dropped it once (inside the soft case), and my zoom-in button is now broken. I was rather disappointed and found out that the warranty never covers accidental drops. In order to get it fixed, I have to send it in to Canon in a insured box and wait for them to email me how much it will cost to fix it. I decided I'd rather keep it broken for now, and since then I haven't really missed the zoom feature all that much. Which often makes me wish I had waited for the 3 megapixel elph to come out. Oh well, no regrets!

Problems: Other than my zoom breaking when I dropped the camera, I have found that sometimes my pictures come out a bit fuzzy in certain flourescent lighting. It could be possibly due to the fact that it's hard to hold the camera perfectly still when I take the picture, but perhaps the white flourescent lighting just amplifies the blurriness.

Opinion: I bought this camera last May and now, 8 months later, the image counter shows more than 3,000 shots. I’m still enthusiastic about the camera and the quality of the pictures and the ease to shoot good photos in almost every situation (outdoor, indoor, cities at night, portrait, macro). In the beginning I was a bit sceptic about the resolution of only 2 Mp.
For testing I sent some crops to the digilab and ordered paper enlargements of size 20cm x 30cm (ca. 8” x 12 “). The result was impressive: Great pictures, without visible pixels, no jaggies. Nobody of my friends was able to identify the digital photographs against the analog ones.

During a 2-weeks journey through China I used exclusively this handy camera and shoot more than 400 pictures (stored at standard compression!) on a single 128 MB CF card. As I did ‘nt want to get all these pics enlarged on paper, I had to select the best ones for the photo-album. This was really a hard job as almost all photos were excellent.

Problems: What I dislike: No manual shutter / speed control. Occasionally focus problems under bad light conditions. Note: sometimes the camera refuses to release the shutter or it takes some seconds. This happens under bad light conditions if the flash is not yet ready and the camera is waiting for it. Occasionally, “raw” pictures look a bit flat on the computer screen. In this case a click on the Autobalance feature of the MS Photo Editor makes you 100% satisfied.
