Opinion: This is my very first digital camera. I am absolutely in love with the little wonder! It is so easy to use- just open the box and charge the battery! The interface was very easy to follow, and the instruction manual explains everything in complete detail. I love the quality of the pictures...you can check some of mine out at http://www.picturetrail.com/dianita02/ . The flash & low light system on this camera is amazing- in a pitch black room the flash goes 12ft when you are zoomed wide! In conclusion, I'd recommend this camera to anyone- it's great for beginning & advanced photographers!! :)
Problems: None whatsoever!
Opinion: I have no personal experiece with the IXUS V, just on the brink of buying it. I saw the camera (including the credicard-size printer) for 1699 DFL ($650) at www.wannahaves.nl.
Check it out!
Opinion: What can I say. Please have a look at the following:

Problems: You need a tripod for night shooting.
Opinion: Selecting this camera was the result of 4 months of research. The quality and functionality have turned out to be even better than I anticipated. Tempered with the impressive compact housing, I would recommend this camera to anyone on the market for a digital camera, compact or otherwise. The video clips, photo stitching features, and picture quality are very impressive in such a small camera. I will soon post the great pictures I took at the SF giants baseball game at Pacbell Park (even at night they turned out great!) and the trip I am taking this weekend to summit Mt. Thompson in the Sierra Nevada. Should be a good test at 14000ft! Lastly, I found a 128 MB CF card at buy.com for $93. and a spare battery for $37. pretty good when compared to the street prices I have been seeing ($250 for the card and $59 for the battery!)
Problems: So far, the unit has been problem free.
