superb macro facility. Highly recommended by me !
Problems: No Problems at all.

Opinion: Just thought I'd say that I'm still looking for the Pro 2? What's up Canon!
I still love this camera. I haven't found anything compelling enough, to replace it
yet. My pictures are superb! I have taken this little camera with me many places
and it just keeps working; even thou I still get nervous on how fragile the camera
seems.
Got some of the best shots I've ever taken with any camera I've owned. Mostly
film cameras. SLR's. I like traveling light and don't want another slr with many
lenses. I'm sorry Canon can't figure this out. I'd like to own a pro2 with more
speed and higher megapixel size. I shoot mostly Landscapes, so this is a perfect
camera for me and with the 28mm size on the wide end, it works for most
subjects.
Photoshop is a must to get the most out of the images. Using curves and a
calibrated monitor. I use CS3.
If I lost this camera-yes, I'd go out and get another one. Jon
Problems: Wobbly lens construction. To slow for sports. Image starts to fall apart for really
enlarged images. Good for 11X14 size maximum. I carry three batteries.
Opinion: In the world of P&S cameras I think the Pro1 is the best one in IQ and features.
It have a 28mm lense that is amaizing. The macro mode is superb and the camera alows filters
Problems: It´s slow
No IS
And vinettering at f/ open
Opinion: I have been using this model for two years. I think it is the very good starting point to learn photography. It gives you a feeling that you touch a SLR camera. L type lens is superb.
Problems: Focusing is a little bit slow, so i have had problems while taking photograps of moving objects (ex. children). And, if you increase the ISO sensitivity to 200 (or higher) you get very high noise level which is not acceptable even for the average users.
Opinion: I am a Pro1 fan.
Although the camera is not for sale anymore it is possible to buy a second hand camera on the internet. A very few new ones are still for sale on E-bay for 1299 $.
I have not found any camera yet that beats the Pro1 as a non SLR camera. I tell that some of the best things on the Pro1 is the 28mm wide angle, the "L" lens and RAW format.
95% of other non-SLR cameras are with 35-39mm wide angle. That is a big difference when comparing pixels and in favor for the Pro1.
I have invested 400 $ on E-bay in a second Pro1 although my old one is working perfect.
Just to be safe that I have a PRO1 for many years. Why will Canon not upgrade the Pro 1.
I have had many discussions with SLR fans. Ok I know that SLR is better in many situations.
But no video and no 7x zoom with only one lens. Pro1 fans please keep this forum open.
Opinion: SUPER Lil Camera!!
This P&S Camera is by no means a slouch.
Don't let it's age fool you....it rivals/or better than most P&S cameras of today and many DSLR's.
Great to have if you want a powerful featured P&S for Travel or backup.
Pros:
Magnisium body construction!!
Fast Canon L lens f2.4-3.5 (28mm-200mm 35mm equiv)
Loaded with real nice effect settings/features.
Does some VERY impressive Macro shots esp in Super Macro mode. (Focus distance from 1.2in)
Big LCD for reviewing shots zooming reviews with zoom ring is a nice feature.
Lil wireless remote is very handy
Battery life seems to be GREAT if you keep LCD off untill needed.(LCD isn't needed for comp of photos....has TTL)
Use my LCD for review only.
Uses same Batt.....CF Card and Canon external flash as my Canon 10D DSLR.
Cons:
Image quality goes downhill after ISO 100
NO Manual focus!!
Filter adapter can be a PITA.
NO Depth Of Field preview button
No lanyard spot for Remote....could easily lose as it is only 2x the size of a postage stamp.
There is a little distortion at Wide angle but that's common with P&S Cameras.
Problems: Got my Camera 3rd hand.($350US 5k actuations)
When I first got Camera the AF was S L O W and very slugish zoom.
Even tho the Camera was 3yrs old NOBODY ever upgraded the Firmware to newer verson 1.0.1.0.
Once I did the Firmware upgrade it's like a NEW Camera!!
AF is fast and zoom is almost instant.

Opinion: SUPER Lil Camera!!
Opinion: I have this camera for more then a year now. So far, I believe, this is the best pro-sumer camera ever released. I was able to take great quality shots without much of an effort. Overall, I love flippable screen, features and amazing convenience and reliability of this camera.
Problems: 1. No image stabilization
2. Any ISO settings over 100 is not really useful, however camera is very much capable of taking decent pictures at low light even at ISO 100. Just use tripod and have manual setting carefully selected.
3. Not the fastest camera in the world.
