Bought this one for my wife as she found the G12 too cumbersome and more camera than needed. We show the images on Panasonic 42 Neoplasma screen and, quite surprisingly, the images are very sharp and the colours are all excellent. In use, the small size is a huge plus. It fires up quickly and the shutter lag is minimal and not a problem. We don't shoot sports or fast action very often and it is unreasonable to expect a camera like this to keep up with a Canon 1dx. A big surprise was ...

Brought the camera a few weeks ago as my mini camera to replace my DSLR when I want something compact. choose this camera as a result of it's relevant slightly higher aperture then other ultra compact cameras in it's price range as well as it's zoom range and the fact it starts at 24mm. starting with the fact the camera starts at 24mm, it's great in some cases but problematic at most. turning on the camera, doing a quick shot of people up close produces significant distortions. would much ...

MY BACKGROUND: I learned the basics of photography shooting BW film in the 80's. I have worked in the professional photography industry for over 6 years, and have been into digital photography since the early Nikon Coolpix 950 in 2001. It had a wonderful twist design for shooting overhead or way down low, a decent viewfinder, took great macro's, and the flash was much more predictable than modern P&S cameras. It was only 2.1mp and pretty slow, but I got a lot of nice photos out of it. I ...

This one is based on the 1/2.3" BSI sensor that works great in low light. Lens is quite good except at both wide & tele. The 24mm wide is VERY useful though. Hidef, 1080P video is very good, it can optically zoom while recording, the video has no compression artifacts and audio is in stereo. The image stabilization works also very well. The 640x480 video at 120fps is awesome to have, finally a decent resolution for this slow mo effect. This cameras is mostly automatic but there are some ...

I was happy to see Canon start to come to their senses and decide to take a chance on quality rather than marketing side-show flim-flams. The camera this unit replaces had a higher pixel count (14 mp) and lower picture quality. I owned the SD1400is, and it was mostly a disappointment. Noisy and soft. This camera is better. In fact it's pretty darn good. Good detail and reasonable dynamic range. The zoom action has plenty of discrete positions so zoning-in on a precise focal length is ...

I got one of these to replace my old ixus 850is, and it's a massive improvement over what was an already good camera. initial view was that it was way to small, but after a few days use it's perfect, and the 850 feels large. the 220 is very very fast. Press the on button and take a picture really quickly. it's really good and fast at focussing, and it's low light performance is great. the display is nice and clear and bright, and works fine in bright sunlight Auto mode does most of what you ...

I am LOVING this little camera! I'd been looking into purchasing a "fit-anywhere-go-everywhere" sort of camera for a while and thought I would pick up the Powershot S95 (though I was uneasy about spending so much for a digicam.) The 300 HS looked like a contender but I couldn't find it anywhere locally and I really wanted to feel it my hands. When I arrived at the store to buy the S95 I found a shipment of the new models had arrived. I grabbed the 300 HS and haven't looked back. I know there ...
