Using the Canon ELPH 300 HS. It powers up and will take pictures, however when attempting to ZOOM the camera displays "LENS ERROR" and shuts down.   Suggestions?

After a lot of research I decided to upgrade from a Canon Elph 300 HS to a PowerShot G16. So far I like the quality of the images I am getting from it, but there is one glaring annoyance. When the camera is in fully automatic mode (granted, I probably won't shoot in that mode all that often, but this is still something that is bothering me) there is no way to turn the Continuous Autofocus off. This results in the camera clicking (quite audibly) every second or two as it attempts to constantly...

Is there a way to turn off the auto-focus while recording video with the Canon PowerShot Elph 300 HS, or to choose a setting that prevents the camera from auto-focusing or at least results in the camera auto-focusing less?

I'm a huge fan of small point and shoot camera's.  If its easy to carry you're more likely to take pictures.  However, I like to post 11x14 photos on my wall and recently I have noticed some of the pictures are a bit fuzzy.  I have a canon SD780 and now a canon powershot elph 300 HS.  The 300 HS is good but I would like something with better picture quality (so I can enlarge the photos etc).  Are there any camera's that can be pocketed and get significantly better picture quality then the...
