I bought this camera to substitute my 60D when I'm travelling, which is most of the time. It is as the DPReview test states, a solid camera whose deeper modes and features are easily accessible without having to dive into menus or go searching for elusive buttons. If you want the feel of the Fuji x-1's et al then here's your poor man's version. It has a viewfinder!! Not the best or the brightest viewfinder out there, something which hopefully Canon will address in the future incarnations of ...

So, while almost everything has been said, and people who needed to, just found what they wanted, I still add something, more technical wise... Body, design, ergonomics: The camera just fits in bigger pocket, so It´s the one of those pieces with nice mix of features, while you really can carry it around, and not miss the oportunity. That was main buying reason for me. On the contrary, while it´s pocketable, I think that lens is fragile in a way of covering it against scratches. The automatic ...

I bought my wife a D7000 to use with her 16-85mm DX af-s g which she likes very much but is afraid to bring it with her on trips outside the US; I did not like her point & shoot for a number of reasons so I bought her a Canon G15 and a SanDisk EXtreme through GEARSHOP - good price and free fast shipping. She likes this little camera: quick focus, solid feel, has a hot shoe, and she noticed immediately, the photos look better than her point & shoot.

I bought this camera about a month before I went on a vacation. I tried it out on a variety of everyday situations, and it seemed to work reasonably well, although the viewfinder turned out to be even more worthless then mentioned in other reviews. The wide angle was less wide than my previous camera, but I thought it would be OK for most pictures. It wasn't until I started using it on my trip that I discovered that this camera has very serious flaws which are especially evident at long ...

This camera performs amazingly. It's like a mini DSLR.  I just shot a concert with it and I couldn't be happier with the pics. I will say when you above ISO 8000 the pics tend to get a bit noisey. Also I not sold on the video yet. The video looks great but the sound is kinda rough. All in all i love this camera

Looking for high quality pictures in a camera that fits in a coat pocket or small camera case.  Came from the LX-3 (and several Nikon DSLRs) which I was very happy with.  Comes down to the fact that you can't get great pics without a high quality fast lens.  And that's what this camera has, along with a decent zoom.  Got it for Christmas, 2012.  Took it to a Colts game (indoor).  First use of the camera in rather demanding circumstances and it did quite well.  Took it on a trip to Europe, ...

I had about $1K two months ago to upgrade my photography gear.  Some of the primary requirements included good video for family/kids, competitive autofocus, capable of taking fast shots, and durability so that I could pass it on to my kids when I grew tired of it.  I quickly decided the purchase would be a canon: either an entry DLSR (rebel) or a G15/G1X.  The G15 won out, primarily due to its value and allowing me use the rest of the budget for accessories such as a new tripod, case, ...

Being a camera tragic I update my advanced compacts every 2 years, so I sold my G12 a few months ago and researched buying the best current advanced compact. I didn't want an APS interchangable lens compact, they are not pocketable in any way to me. I studied reputable camera review sites and user reviews and found little difference in the top 5 but the Sony RX100 appeared to come out on top. So I bought me an RX100 but sold it a week later ! WHY ? Most shots were under-exposed and I got sick ...

I recently bought this camera and I am very satisfied. I previously owned a G10 but the lens got scratched and I had to replace the camera. The G10 was a very good camera but the G15 is an improved model. On the G15 the lens is much brighter and this allows taking pictures with less light. The camera is also faster, more compact and lighter than the G10. So if you need a «compact» camera with all the controls the G15 is a good choice. Picture quality is excellent. Problems: The location ...
