Opinion: I've been very happy with this camera since my Nikon 5700 died about a year and a half ago. However, it's very slow in use due to focus times, flash cycle times and so many functions being down in a menu somewhere. It's also pretty much impossible to get the zoom exactly where you want it.
Problems: Poor zoom control, occasional sticking of zoom control.
Opinion: This replacement for my lost Powershot A95 is very good. The only things missing here, compared to A95 is the swiveling display and fast flash recharge. Otherwise, a very GOOD upgrade from A95 and very VERSATILE point and shoot camera. It can even produce very professional-looking images if you can master the manual controls :)
Just check http://zenstrive.deviantart.com and see some cool photographies :)
Problems: Flash recharging is SO SLOW !!
No Image Stabilizers, forcing me to find flat surfaces in correct angle to take a photo in dark/night scenes I fond of.
Opinion: Hello,
I bought this camera 2 months ago, i can thay that i like it a lot.
The viewfinder is nice, it has lots of interesting features, but for a behinner like me, the manual features are a little bit difficult to use.
Im pretty satisfied with the picture quality, and with the low light situations.
Pretty nice camera
Problems: None yet
Opinion: This camera was a great disappointment, especially given the price. I have been very happy with only a few aspects of it--it is easy to use (although transferring pics to the computer was a nightmare--zero support for linux, and I had to buy a card reader). The zoom works very well--6x is great, the interpolation on the digital zoom is not bad can actually get you a bit above there without too much loss of quality. The zoom is also very easy to control. The settings are also easy to control, and the startup time is very fast.
Problems: The door covering the lens stopped closing properly after less than six months of moderate use. I am also very disappointed with the high noise level. My previous camera was an Olympus D-60 Zoom, and in spite of being 4 years older, it had better performance in low light conditions and with ISO 400. The ISO-800 setting is so noisy it's as good as useless. The flash cycling is also unacceptably long. The bottom line is that while this camera takes acceptable photos in full sunlight, it is simply terrible for low light or even moderate light conditions. This is not a $300 camera, which is what I paid for mine--I regret spending the money.
Opinion: É uma boa câmara, mas poderia ser melhor
Opinion: I’ve bought the camera 3 months ago and I’m very pleased by it. Still works great even after taking over 4000 pictures.
Pro:
Very good picture quality
Reliable and fast focus
Very little lens distortion in macro, normal, and telephoto
Fast operation especially when using a fast card (I’m using Kingston Elite Pro 50x. My experience says that more faster cards don’t get much more out of the camera.)
Very impressive macro performance (much better than I expected!)
Full (!) manual controls
Additional control over saturation, contrast, sharpness and colors
6x Zoom
Excellent menu
Big screen with grid lines and playback histogram
Optical viewfinder
Battery life about 220 – 280 shots when using 2 Ni-Mh(LCD-Screen always on)
Quite small and lightweighted. Good hand grip.
Contra:
Low light performance only average
No image stabilization (not that important when taking telephoto pictures in bright light conditions)
Build quality could be better (tripod mount made of plastic)
Flash recycle times up to 10 seconds (even with Ni-Mh) due to using only 2 batteries
Quite loud zoom mechanism
No ISO-Button (but ISO is the first point in the idiot-proof menu)
No uncompressed format (oh, I’m dreaming ;-)
Only about 10 minutes on a 1GB card in movie mode
Problems: In my opinion there are no major problems. Very good camera with a great proportion of price and performance.
Opinion: Verry slow camera- push button anda wait... Flash charging takes too much time. No battery/charger included. Outside great pictures.
Problems: Picture quality bad, when zooming in dark room
Opinion: Purchased this as a replacement for the SD400-- was looking for something with more features and power, but not as expensive and bulky as a dSLR (that will be the next step). Used it during a recent vacation in Europe. Camera was fantastic. Easy to use, long battery life, nice 6x zoom, good size, great images, rich feature set, etc.
Problems: None
Opinion: As a compromise between a 'fashion accessory' and an SLR, this camera is probably an ideal choice.
In addition to offering full control of settings, it also offers an excellent movie mode, and the extra zoom is a huge bonus.
Problems: None
