I wanted an all-rounder for around the €150 mark. I love to take spider macros but was almost put off by this camera due to its 5cm minimum focussing distance (1cm or 2cm would have been lovely). But other features nailed it: - 15 sec long exposure - up to 800 iso - manual focus - 3 flash strengths - easy stitch assist - strong cont./burst mode plus it had consistently good reviews everywhere you care to look. After over 1000 pictures I can say that I'm well chuffed. I would advise users ...

I picked one up last week at BestBuy for $150. Never had a Canon camera, and wanted to see if the PowerShot A series was as good as the reviewers made them sound. This camera is certainly reasonable compact, given that it uses two AA batteries for power. Other than that it is very similar to the Canon SD450, whish uses a proprietary battery. Side-byside shots with my other digital cameras indicate that the image quality of the A530 is about as good as a 5 Mpixle camera should do these days, ...

I have had this camera for a couple weeks now and really like it. I have a digital rebel XT and some L lenses as well for when I want to take "serious" shots, but this camera has been great to take family photos and videos on various outings. I love having the video feature, especially for kids it's great to caputure quick cllips of them talking and moving. That's the one thing that I wish were better for this camera.... the frame rate on the video is not as high as I would like (20fps on ...

Very good camera with very good image quality. Canon quality with a very good canon AF. 5 MP is enough for very sharp pictures in almost every condition. Only negative is plastic body but considering the prize it is by far one of the most valuable cameras to buy. 170€ for 4x zoom, 5MP and very good handling! Many useful features for great pictures... After trying different higher prize cameras I was impressed by the speed of the Af and the typical Conon menu and functions. This is not the ...

Found the A530 at a store for only ¥19800 so took the plunge (impulse buy.) This is my first Canon; I've always been a FujiFilm user. Construction: The construction is good. All plastic body, and it feels light but not cheap. No metal it seems, but consider the low price. Features: Lots of features, ISO settings, vivid color, B&W, etc. Lots of pre-sets for the novice and experienced user alike. Image quality: Image quality is quite good for such a cheap camera. I was skeptical at first, but ...

The camera is well worth the money. It takes great pictures and is easy to use. Lots of shoot modes that are easy to figure out if you spend a few minutes with the manual. Problems: The only problems I have had are with the batteries. Keep extras on hand because it eats them up pretty fast.
