Opinion: Approx 4 years in use. I choose this camera because long time ago there are only 1 MPix cameras. Canon PS A5 is one of the best cameras with good image quality.

Now, 4 years later, the camera shoots thousands images and works good and easy. Dark shots are better that some cameras which choose too low shutterspeed.

The first accu is broken and runs now at 2nd accu. But the life of 2nd accu is now not more good.
The metal house is strong, my camera falls serveral times on floor but the dents are easy removed.
Automatic lens cover is very useful and still working.

You can see the pictures on my site.
I'm now looking for better Canon camera, for example G2 or S30.

Problems: Battey cover is weak. This part breaks little by hinge point. It's now fixed with glue and some plastic strips. But i must with care open or close the cover. I asked myself why this cover is not from metal made, same with metal house?

The selection switch above camera moves sometimes the camera when you put it in your pocket. Not big problem, but better look out for it.

Battery life may be little short, if you shoot so much photos...

Opinion: Had this cam for almost 2 yeras, took a few thousand pix, never any problems with the quality. Print outs in 4R not that clear due to the 0.7 mega pixel only. Changed to G1 now but still use sometimes the A5 due to its smaller size.

Problems: As everybody.... The Batterie cover

Opinion: Bought the camera when it came out and still use the it. Build though, I don't understand why people have problem with battery door. People must use common sense. Good quality pictures, dependable, good screen.
No USB hook up, but simple to use with card reader.

Problems: No.

Opinion: Have this camera since november 1998 and still use it. Since this camera canon has released loads of new camera's but still I am waiting for a interesting one te replace min. Have played around with an s300 but it gives too much red eyes and the a5 almost never had red eyes.

Problems: the battery door breaks to easily and the battery live is way too short.

Opinion: Bought more than three years ago and will replace soon with, probably, an S40. I have enjoyed the features and reliable ease of use. Its highest resolution shots can be printed 5x7 without much problem or noticable digigrain.

Problems: Battery door hinge is cracked, flimsy. I don't like the way it defaults to a lower resolution when I turn it on.
