Opinion: Excellent End user camera
Pros: 6X optical zoom , 3" inch LCD , 1cm Macro , Image Stablizer
Cons: Didn't find yet
Opinion:
I bought this camera last week instead of the Panasonic Lumix FS42 , because i found some features that doesn't exists in the FS42 and important for me although i'm not a professional photographer :
1- 6x optical zoom , FS42 is 4x
2- Auto Focus(AiAF TTL 9-point or center)
3- Macro Focus 1cm , FS42 is 5cm
4- Min shutter is 15 sec , FS42 is 60 sec
5- Max. shutter is 1/1600 sec , FS42 is 1/2000 sec
6- FS42 is better in the Continuous drive 2.3FPS while the A2000 is 1.3FPS
7- Material Quality level of the A2000 is Super Fine rather than the FS42 which is Fine only
8- AA batteries is Convincing and durable for me than the Lithium because the Lithium if defected i could face a problem in the repurcahse due to stock shortage or high price.
7- FS42 comes with internal memory 50MB , A2000 doesn't have internal memory , only 32MB SD card , but i bought 4GB SD card for longer.
8- Image stabilization is available in the A2000 and not in the FS42
9- Good price

Problems: No major problems , only some comments:
1- No internal Memory (32 SD Card provided)
2- Need higher ISO rate
3- NO View Finder

Opinion: A very nice little camera, just right for taking snaps. Some people complain about the shallow grip, but those who just want t cheap and cheerful point and shooter won't complain.

Problems: High ISO is almost pointless. You really need good light or use flash to take acceptable photos - just like the fixed-focus, fixed aperture film compacts of old.

Opinion: I bought this camera for my wife for xmas after looking at loads of reviews. Price was $199 at BestBuy. She is absolutely thrilled with it. On "auto" it is tough to take an unacceptable picture. As she is not inclined to use the other modes just yet that will probably be my job :) The movie mode is simply great and works well in the light of your average Italian restaurant. (did that) It's not the greatest camera out there, but for the money it can't be beat.

Problems: The usual red-eye problem with cameras of this type. It does not have a view finder which can be a problem in sunlight outside.

Opinion: Hi Guys,

Posting review and rate "for fun" and without the camera on hand is completely useless! How a guest can trust those "review" when most of them are written by people like you who just read the specs somewhere on the web??? How can you rate the image quality and all 5 items if you did not use the camera daily???

Come on, stop this pollution, review your own camera and use the forum for the others geek you like or dislike, it will be far more useful and interesting!

Val

Problems: Yes one big : those useless comments which should be posted in the forum, not in the camera database...

Opinion: I own a Canon A630, A640, and A650, and I absolutely love them. Although I don't own this camera, I would expect it to be very similar in quality, fuction, and MP's, as my A640.
But the real reason I felt I had to post, was to comment on the user before me who said > Self time need to Pre-focus 1st, means it will be useless for taking self picture. <
This is actually only partly true. It would be helpful if the camera would count down, then focus, then fire, in that order......
But I actually use my A-series cameras "all the time" for self taken shots. I simply use the "C" custom mode, and set the camera for a manual focus, of the correct distance, ahead of time. Works great :-) I use it this way to take my trophy sportfish photos, while fishing by myself, more than I use the A-series cameras for anything else.

Problems: EDIT: I have found that the new A2000 and A1000 have dropped the swivel screen... making it completely useless for my purposes (self taken shots). As well as dropped to 2 batts (less capacity now) and lost some great manual features.
What the hell, Canon ???

Peace,
Fish

Opinion: Advantages of my own view:
01) 1cm macro
02) AA battery(Very convenient)
03) More than 500 shots for fully charged battery
04) Face detection
05) Produced very sharp images at lower ISO

Problems: Disadvantages of my own view:
01) Too noisy above ISO 400
02) IS feature not really effective
03) Self time need to Pre-focus 1st, means it will be useless
for taking self picture. I prefer auto tracking like Limix
camera, the camera will refocus after activating self
timer.

Opinion: You simply cannot get a better camera period.
I currently own a Fuji f40fd & f20. While this camera is alittle slower. It does seem to have a better zoom 6x vs. 3x.
Better ISO quality.
Very good battery life. All the latest features and 10 megapixels.

Problems: None. So far
