I've got my A200 from Jul 2002. About half year later, the battery compartment cover is broken. Other owners have already mentioned that the battery cover is the weakest part of this camera. Therefore, I sent the camera to Canon Service Centre for repair. Canon quoted the price is US45. I stress that it is a quite obvious design defect. Canon ask me to leave the camera in their centre and their technician shall contact me shortly. Two weeks later, the camera was repaired at no cost. I think ...

I payed €200,- for the cam here in the Netherlands and I can say it's worth it! Good features and image quality, especially the macro mode. Once you know all the features also good ease of use. Problems: Not real problems just one thing Canon could have done different: The on/off switch on the front: why not the usual kind of switch on the back?

I've owned a Sony and Nikon previously, and they are both heavier equipted and more expensive then this A200. But I gotta tell you this, Canon is GREAT!. The image quality is just superb! Sharp images, clear resolution, GREAT color. I have no problem shooting in any sortof setting be it daylight inhouse, incandasecnt light etc. A Shame Nikon has very obvious problems with noise levels in so many of their models, whereas Sony produces slighly lower quality images and their prices/ design are ...

ok, just got one for 150$ usd for an upcoming trip (would have been tempted to wait for A300, but didn't have time). Positives: for a plastic camera, it's solid. Controls are easy to figure out, taking pictures in automatic usually goest well. Downside: very long lag writing to the flash between photos, and a very long flash charge cycle (these two things can cause a 5-8 second lag between photos). I've used an S230, with this same flash card, so I know it's not the cf card. Battery/cf ...

I bought this camera a moth ago (this is my first digitalcamera) and i am really pleased with the pictures. In the manual mode you can change almost everything besides the shutterspeed. You can change the flash (auto, off, slow sync, red eye), macro or infinity mode, Exposure, White balance, photoeffect, ISO, continues shooting and self-timer. First the manual mode can be a bit difficult to learn, then you have the auto mode (very simple to use). The pictures at maximum quality is very good. ...

I have been using the A200 for about six months now, and although I found the unit a little hard to get used to as far as retrieving photos and deleting, so forth, I find the image quality, especially for a web environment, to be excellent. One of the best features of all is that it easily fits into a jacket or slacks pocket, and is durable enough to take it. Problems: Unit is extremely moody about the quality of batteries used. Many brands could not even produce a single photo, regardless ...

When I saw the camera in-store I thought there'd be no way I'd buy it. I was dead-set on Olympus cameras, but then I received the A200 for Christmas and have slowly grown fond of it. I've discovered that if you, like me, can't afford to buy rechargable batteries at the moment, Energizer e2 batteries work rather well. The image quality is great, although sometimes shots come out with unexplainable dots on them. That's a simple nuisance, however, that can usually just be edited out in photshop ...

Cannon Powershot. A200 What can i say an amazing digital camera. Its my first digi after a lot research on the market, for the price 199 euros its unbeatable! The quality of the photos is genenerally excellent, a few mis exposed shots but just delete it and try again! Macro is so detailed its scary. The range of features are great, a manual white balance would be nice but it has numerous opionons to choose from to take the perfect shot (auto is normal very good). The size is good, not ...
