Hi! I bought the Minolta 200 mm HS AF APO 200 mm 2.8 from eBay some months ago. Optics (sharpness, bokeh) is fabulous. However, the autofocus drives me nuts. It's very fast and many times fully accurate but especially when I go from near field to far field, it hunts and struggles for many seconds but still isn't able to get the correct focus. If I then make small corrections manually the green rectangle has a steady light and focus is correct. With just using AF the lens just doesn't go...

The price difference between both is that the Sigma is $200 cheaper than the Sony new. The Sigma has OS which is a plus. If you go for 2nd hand Sigma the difference will be $3xx-$4xx but you lose warranty unless the lens is very new. Which one to choose? I've seen photos of both and both are excellent. I actually have used the Sigma before (on Canon) and I'm very satisfied with it's quality and build. So I would guess I will be very satisfied with the Sony as well. So performance-wise I think...

I have recently purchased a Sony Alpha 77ii which came with a 16-50 standard kit lens. I am still finding my way round the camera, but I know this lens is limited to Portrait & Landscape photography, and I would like to purchase a reasonably priced (£400 ish) zoom lens for photographing wildlife. Can anyone give me any advice on this?

Is there a method on the A77 to manually set aperture and speed while in auto ISO? --'Better' is the enemy of 'Good Enough'.

I have a Neewer manual flash that I am trying to trigger using my a77ii with the popup flash and the wireless flash functionality.  The TTL preflash is triggering the flash causing it to fire twice, once on the TTL flash and once on the shutter.   I have tried both ADI and TTL settings on the camera and both S1 and S2 on the flash.  My understanding is that S2 should ignore the TTL flash and only fire on the shutter flash.   An alternative would be to set the a77ii's flash to manual and turn...

Does Sigma lenses have the same problem on the A99 as they do on the A77, A33 et.al?  Specifically I was thinking about a Sigma 24-70 F2.8 IF EX DG HSM.  Thanks, Ray

For those people who have and use this lens: Do you find that when the lens is securely attached to your Sony camera (I use the A77mk2) there is a very tiny amount of "wiggle"--if you hold the lens tightly and move the camera slightly to the left or right you'll see what I mean, mine has it.  It doesn't affect the lens stability on the camera, but none of the Sony lenses do this. Also, there's a thin rubber ring that goes around the circumference of the lens at the end where it attaches to...

With my new shiny a77ii same day arrived sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM (Art). On jpeg's I see good sharp results if I took steady shot, but on RAW files almost all photos are a little bit blurred (looking at the eyes). Not big specialist, but I understand that camera makes some adjustments for jpeg , but it should be also sharp on RAW also.. What should I do ? How can I check and adjust the lens ( I know there is micro adjustment) ? Is there some special procedure on what length and aperture it...

Finally got my a77ii few days ago. Bought UHS-I class 3 memory card 16 GB for XAVC-S video. But I can't get it working, it says that card is not compatible or I need to change file system. In sony site I found that for XAVC-S I need to have at least 64GB UHS-I memory card. Is this true ?
