I have owned the Nex 6 for about 3 months now I think I have a good feel for the camera.  I am coming from a Canon EOS M camera and before that Canon DSLRs.  I purchase the Nex 6 for the sensor and because the A6000 was coming out soon so it meant the Nex 6 could be had for a good price. SENSOR: What I like most about the Nex 6 sensor is you can recover highlights and boost shadows without worrying too much about noise and with no banding in the shadows.  I shoot alot of landscapes and being ...

I shoot a lot of Fisheye pictures using my Canon 5d Mark 2 and while it takes great photos, it is to big to carry for many spur of the moment shots.  In researching small ILCs, I discovered only two had low 1.5 crop factors, the Sony and the Samsung.  I then found a great 7.3mm lens for the Sony and I was sold.  I find the camera easy to use an handle and I am very pleased so far.

Amazing camera , take pictures like a SLR sometimes even better. the speed is super and the lens is great. Image qualitative is high. the viewfinder is so big clear and bright it is amazing, you see things I never noticed with a normal SLR viewfinder. Sony did a super job on this one.

Here is a small NEX-6 review. I never did a review before, but I have the feeling that the NEX-6 deserves one. Photography started for me (when I was 13 years old) with a Canon AT-1 with only a standard lens. It was great camera and I shot a lot of slides with it. After some years, I saved enough money to buy two more lenses and a Canon Canonet G-III. The G-III was a great little camera and I enjoyed it a lot because of its compact size. I was very late to the digital party when I bought a ...

I bought this camera last Christmas to replace my Lumix G2. I loved it the first party. Easy to use for everyone and plenty of feature when you decide to do serious photography. the image quality is perfect. it is easier to use my old Minolta MD lenses because of the focus peaking and I don't have change setup every time I use it. I bought an external battery charger and an extra battery. I don't like to charge the battery directly from the camera and the power going down fast when I use the ...

After one year with Sony NEX-6 and over 6000 pictures taken, I can tell that this camera delivers excellent results. I bought the camera as a replacement for my Pentax DSLR and there were only a few situations when I missed the DSLR. The portability of this camera allows you to take very good quality pictures in places where DSLRs are prohibited by their size and weight (for instance in an airplane cockpit) and the range of the features is simply awesome. Still the camera must be ...

After a month of Nex 6 : Pros : - This thing makes THE BEST cam jpgs I ever seen in my life (Gears owned and/or tested :  Fuji s7000, Nikon D70s, Nikon D300, Nikon D700, Nikon D3200, Nikon D800, Sony RX100 and some point and shoot). Period. There is VERY little need to shoot raw until iso 1000 (I shoot almost always raw+jpg). Colors and dynamic range are simply wonderful even at default settings (and auto WB). Histogram shows very rare clipping, even in the damned red channel. This is even ...

Despite the title, this is a thoroughly good camera that is nice to use and has great IQ. I am going to break the review up into sections and I am going to start, for no particular reason, with the design and build of the camera: Design and Build: In my view the camera definitely has that restrained professional look. Everything is black and the shape a simple rectangle with rounded corners. Very simple, very straight forward. It is then adorned with lovely white lettering. It looks serious ...

This is a summary after 7 months use of the NEX-6 + 16-50 OSS. This camera meets the prime consideration - it takes great pictures, clear, detailed, good saturation & not particularly noisy. However you want to measure it, this camera delivers very good photos. I was also impressed by the kit lens, I wasn't expecting too much (it's a kit lens & it's TINY) but it has performed really well, even against my fussy standards. It may be that I got lucky & received an exceptionally good copy. The ...

Like many I am looking for a replacement for my 5D mIII that I find I'm leaving home too often due to its weight. Having tried and returned 2 Fuji's - X100 and X1 Pro, great colour but unacceptably slow focusing - I thought the Sony NEX would fit the bill. Over the Xmas holiday I had borrowed a NEX 7 and was generally impressed with it. When the NEX 6 was announced with WIFI and Apps I thought it would be similar but for the lower pixel count so I ordered it with the new 16-50OSS, 16mm ...
