Hi There, Just setting up my new A6000 and coming from Nex-6 its similar, but of course different too. I would like to use DMF with AF lenses to have only 2 second focus assist . However, I would like manual lenses to magnify when pressing C1 to be indefinite. It seems the same setting... [Menu] > Setting pg1 > Focus Magnify Controls both AF lens DMF time & Manual Lens Magnify. Is there any way to have them separate? or how can I exit the magnify if I have an AF lens attached so I can keep...

In the NEX-6 Manual there was a section which simply listed the camera Menu options. It was very useful to me as I live in Japan I can compare this list to the camera screen if there is something I don't understand. I downloaded 3 different A6000 manuals, but dont see the same list - is there a manual available with this kind of list?

Hello all. This is my first post, but I've been using the forum to find answers for about three months. I've tried searching for an answer to my problem (here and elsewhere) and nothing seems to match my particular problem. I just purchased a used NEX 6. This is my second, so I'm fairly familiar with the camera. Everything seems to be functioning - just not functioning the way it should. When I booted up the camera, it seemed okay. Then I put in a brand new SD card and it formatted.  Then I...

Has there ever been a fix for the "Camera Error. Turn camera off then back on." error message for my NEX-6? It's making a potentially nice camera rather useless. ---- http://www.normhamilton.caNorm HamiltonHanging out on Vancouver Island at the present time :-)

SORRY FOR COFUSSION! I am asking about NEX-6 Fn button on top of the grip which is Custom 1 for a6000. I had a problem taking July 4th fireworks pictures because every time I wanted a new picture the lens started looking for focus even tough previous picture focus was perfect. I missed a lot of good pictures. Can I assign Fn button to switch between Auotmatic to manual focus? I was at Sammy's Camera and @6000 had button like that C1.

I know, I know...another what should I buy thread....but, I need a gut check here... I am interested in upgrading from my NEX-6 with kit lens.  The two main reasons for upgrading are focus speed and longer reach. I thought I was all set to get an a6000 with kit lens and SEL18200 to give me what I need and more; however, everything I read seems to indicate that the RX10ii would also meet my requirements and more.  It touts extremely fast AF and has the 200mm reach on a Zeiss lens with...

I've been playing with my fabulous new Sony 10-18 mm wide-angle lens (cost more than the camera, if I recall correctly), in preparation for a trip to Iceland next month. I've also got a third-party, el-cheapo IR Remote Control. When I first bought the remote, I was able to get it to work with the camera. Now that I'm seriously prepping for taking some knockout landscape shots, I can't seem to make it work. Any suggestions. Thanks, Joe

Hi all, I just got a nex 6, it overall it seems pretty damn delightful. One thing I've noticed however, is that the PZ 16-50mm just feels a bit like its struggling. Does it usually make a bit of noise? And is it normal to be able to feel the mechanism of the motor as you use it? Overall it doesn't feel rock solid (which is fine if thats normal) in terms of its mechanism, but then again it is a kit lens. There is some movement when touched, not much, when the lens is...

I have a Sony NEX6 camera. I know it has WYFI. I can demonstrate this with my Nexus 7 tablet. My TV is a Visio that also has WYFI. In plain English please is it possible to view pictures on the TV using the WYFI in the camera and if so how do I do it? Thanks

I'm a Sony Nex-6 owner, since 2013. I own the following lenses: Sony 50mm Sigma 60mm Sony 35mm (my favorite because of the 50mm FOV) Sony 30mm macro Sigma 19mm Sony 1650 kit (I hate this lens, but keep for video) While I'm certainly not a professional and feel I am still new to photography, it is a "serious" hobby that I've picked up since purchasing the Nex-6. I mostly shoot pictures of my family/kid (a 2 year old with another on the way--50% indoors), as well as nature and "artsy" black &...
