I've been playing safe with extension tubes etc to see what might be possible and it LOOKS like the PK lenses would fit direct on e-mount if their 3 flanges were a little thinner i.e. reducing the diameter of the flange ends (just a filing session?). Has anyone experience of trying this idea? If you did how about the rotation to lock position? (I cannot see this peering down a macro tube at a offered up/part-mated lens) While most Pentax lenses have a protruding aperture close down pin that...

I currently have a Fuji X-E2 and an NEX-F3 and for birding (casual stuff only) and kids, I find the NEX to be much more proficient. Don't laugh, birds and kids are very similar subjects, they both move quickly and unpredictably! I like to take photos of birds in flight and like to shoot with multi-area focus and continuous autofocus, and the F3 does surprisingly well. In all categories that matter (autofocus speed, shutter lag, and most importantly the ability to focus on a small object in...

I am travelling to the UK next month, my netbook is old & almost useless for photo editing. I am thinking of getting Photogene for the iPad so i can edit NEX6 RAW files. I understand I will need Apples camera connection kit too. I don't need to do any super serious editing, just general clarity, shadows etc. Any serious stuff can be done when i get back home. I'd just like to make sure in advance that there won't be any surprises & it will be as simple as connecting the card, importing &...

I have a Sony NEX-6 camera. Can I fit, with a suitable adaptor, an Auto Chinon 135mm f2.8 to it. All sales I can find of this lens are of an automatic one - I cannot find the manual. I realise I will not get autofocus but will the exposure metering work ok. It does on a Minolta and a Leica legacy lens (I have both of these)? It also allows manual focus assist. Also, can you suggest an adaptor?

I have two cameras which show changes in exposure on their viewfinder and LCD, so I use exposure compensation if I think that will improve the look.  But on both cameras, and i think on most cameras, this setting doesn't change, even when turning the camera off and then on again. What's the rationale for that?  I can see leaving the compensation the same for a series of shots with the same lighting, but other than that, I wish there was a button push or reset that would make the compensation...

I received my NEX-6 last month, and only in the last 2 weeks I've found time to play around with it. I also realized that I needed faster lens, which naturally led me to research both on the forums here and other photography sites. The Sony 35mm and Sigma 30mm seem to be the best bets. And I would be able to get either one when I travel to Ireland in a week or so.  However, I can't really make up my mind. And would like the community to help out (as you did when I couldn't decide which...

I've posted this question in another thread before, but thought I'd put it in its own thread since I never received a response. I am hoping to use one of these cases with the A6000 and was wondering if anyone had any experience with using either of these cases with their...

Once I started shooting RAW on my nex-6, I began to pretty much ignore the creative style and DRO settings, figuring all that would be irrelevant in the RAW files and better managed in PP. The WB settings obviously mattered in camera, so I kept working with that. I've always meant to look into this, and recently confirmed that DRO and creative style setttings do indeed affect the RAW files- maybe this was obvious to everybody else all along! ;-) I'm wondering, what are peoples thoughts about...

Hi, My first post but I have been lurking for a few years.I have a nex-6 shortly to be replaced with a new A6000 and I want a wide angle lens. I have a very good 16/50 kit lens. So what do you consider the best to buy, a used 16mm and adapter or a new, (as I don't think there are many used yet ), 12mm prime by Rokinon/Samyang. Are there any advantages to either choice apart from cost, how does image quality compare ? Thanks for any advice from anyone who has experience of both.
