Folks, I am here in the UK and I used my NEX-5n camera in a dust storm in Morocco. I got some awesome shots but my camera feels like there is dust inside now :). The shutter click is not as snappy and I can almost feel the dust when I zoom the lens and click etc. Otherwise - the camera takes awesome pictures still. My question is - does anyone know if its possible to get the camera cleaned internally (someone would have to open it up and clean the dust from inside) and how much would it cost...

Hey guys, Been following this forum for a while, this is my first time posting. I must say this is definitely one of the best forum on Cameras that I've come across so far! Anyway, I'm thinking of selling off my 2.5 yrs old NEX-5(w/ twin lens kit) since the 2nd value is still strong & buy the new A6000 and here's some questions that I have: Will the A6000 have a video limitation of 29mins 59secs due to the tax implication in Europe for breaching into the camcorder category? Am I stuck with...

I am about to go on vacation with my family carrying the A6000 with several lenses. I have both kit lenses (SEL 18-55mm from my old NEX-5N and the newer SEL 16-50mmPZ) and I find that there is a slight difference in border sharpness and geometric distortions between both kit lenses in favor of the old silver 18-55mm using in-camera processed JPEGs. However, I am not sure (not enough time to test it)  if the newer SEL 16-50 is faster to focus or more accurate as compared to the old 18-55,...

I've recently upgraded from nex5n to a6000 and using sel18200 as my walk-around lens. After some discussions on this forum and some reviews I became interested in a new sel1670z as a lighter and probably better IQ alternative to a walk-around lens, when I do not need a long reach.  I do not that much interested in video, but would like a lens that will be on my camera 95% of the time (with possible exceptions of low light situations, then I will be using sel35f18). So will I see noticeable IQ...

Hello All, I have recently purchase a Sony A7. I was comparing it against my beloved Nex5n and I noticed a strange shutter speed behavior. I was shooting the same subject under same lighting condition with respective kit lenses wide open, i.e, 18-55 on Nex5n @F 3.5 and 28-70 on A7 @ F 3.5. Here is the shutter speed and other details. Nex5N: 18 mm, ISO 3200, Shutter Speed 1/50, F 3.5 A7: 28 mm, ISO 3200, Shutter Speed 1/20, F 3.5 I was expecting that A7 would record higher or at least the same...

I had the standard camera kit on my NEX-5N with the 18-55mm lens. I also bought a leather case for it like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390868572962&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123 I now have the 18-200mm zoom lens who is a bit longer. Anyone seen a similar case for it? Since the body and lens case are separated items (snaps), I wonder if a NEX-5N body case with another model lens case (longer) could fit? Thanks, Ax

I have the HVL-F20S that is is compact and excellent with my NEX-5N. However, it seems not compatible with A6000 (no hotshoe adapter available). I have seen the "official" Sony flash HVL-F20M but it is big, and it needs batteries (weight). The tiny included flash of the A6000 has only 1/120 sec speed sync and I get frequently blurry images of moving subjects. I think the NEX 5N flash was better. Does anyone use an A6000 compatible external flash not very expensive with bounce flash option and...

I am pretty much impressed with JPEG processing in A6000 even with SELPZ16-50mm kit lens that it is sharper as compared with NEX-5N. However, corner performance of the kit lens is not very good as related with sharpness and it is also too slow for use indoors without flash. However, Sigma 30mm f2.8 (first black version) is faster and it was sharper than the kit lens when I tested it on my old NEX 5N. Does anybody tested both lenses (kit at 30mm and Sigma) with the new A6000? How about...

Hi there! I am searching for an LCD hood for my sony NEX 3n I just bought. The reason I would like it is to provide the shade and additional mechanical protection for the screen. However, after checking ebay and amazon I could not find any product where it would be explicitely stated that it is for 3n. There are plenty of hoods for nex-3, nex-5, nex-5n and I also found 1 for nex 5r and 5t on Amazon. link:...

I just purchased a Sony 18-200 for my 5N as a travel lens.  About to do my first vacation without a DSLR, I've always been happy with the images from my 5N.  I've now put this 18-200 on it, and I have the opportunity to get a NEX 7 at a good price... Now, I know this is a compromise travel zoom lens, albeit a good one.  Give its image characteristics, does it even make sense to use this on a 7?  Will I really get a benefit by using a higher resolution sensor that will even further outclass...
