I bought this camera for my wife to replace a Canon Powershot SD1100. Boy what a mistake that was. I mainly picked this Sony cam because my wife wanted one with a touchscreen and seeing that other relatives have less expensive Sony point and shoots I thought this would be a good choice. My regular use camera is a Canon G-9. I wanted something very pocketable and was willing to give up some picture quality. As it turns out, I didn't have to. Well lit pictures are as clear and sharp as my Canon. I thought this impossible with such a small lens. The touch screen takes some getting used to. For a digital camera that is most likely used for simple recreational use, its features are outstanding. It took a few days to figure out, but once you understand each and every function, the DSC-T700 can take phenomenal photographs due to its digital intelligence. It has tons of fun features, too, so that you can play with how an image looks--you can add shapes, draw on photographs, and even edit photos right on the camera so that printing them in a store is easier than before. Warning: took two pictures with out of the box settings with flash and got horrific yellow on wife's face and on mine too. Controls are awkward.
