I am absolutely at the end of my tether with this camera. In 2 years I have had four faults : lens flap often fails to open; dirt got into lens assembly (expensive repair); zoom button failed; and now camera won't even turn on! For the last I have been quoted a repair of £150!!! Given how bad the camera is (a) in low light and (b) in bright light, I am almost pleased to see the back of it - needless to say I won't be repairing it. BUT the question is what to replace it with? I am tempted by ...

I got this camera half price due to it being discontinued. Why? This camera still kicks some really good performance for a camera in this range. I've taken something like 300 pics since I bought it less than 3 weeks ago, and each pic even in extreme low conditions come out superb. Though not much difference in quality through the different resolution modes. Very good build quality, compact enough to carry in top pocket of shirt and easy point and shoot performance. Problems: Only problems I ...

Bought this Half price as a "Managers Special". Originally bought Ricoh RR30, but build quality was so poor, I just has to return it. The P5 could not be more the opposite, truly awesome build quality. I do not think that it is worth the full UK price, but ignoring cost, I have not seen a better camera in its class! Problems: Dont like proprietary anything (ie memory and battery) however got two of both in the half price deal (in fact got two cases also), so it should last me a while. The ...

Pros: - Great picture quality in daylight, not too good at night - Great battery life for it's tiny size battery (last the whole day, 40 shots, half w/flash, switch off after each shot) - Flash range is good, even sometimes too good Cons: - Focusing and flash recharge is a bit slow, no good for taking shots back-to-back at night - Limited movie clips (15 sec at high quality) Problems: - The cover sometimes won't open completely, seems to go away when opening (turn on the camera) with the lens ...

Good camera, first digital one. Sharp pictures, good color, small, light. Great camera for kids to take pictures with, email friends. Got decent vacation pics this year. Thanks, Sony! Problems: 128M limits # pics. Button to take pics is small, easy to get blurred exposure when depressing it. LCD sucks battery dry quickly, LCD hard to see in daylight. Sometimes when turn camera on the shutter mechanism doesn't seem to open all the way, causes diagonal black bars on digital image. Hard ...

I love this camera. It is a good looking little camera. It takes awesome shots. The pictures come out clear and sharp. It is easy to use. The battery could last a little longer. The accessories are way too expensive.

My first digital camera and I am very impressed. I have used film for years, and I am finally making the switch. The image quality is great, and it is very easy to use. The LCD screen is bright and includes everything you need to know - battery life, memory left, etc. Great camera! Problems: 8mb memory stick doesn't last long. A 16mb would be better, but I heard that will be in with the p7.
