Hi Everyone, We bought a Sony DSC-HX300 a few months ago, and I've been recently wanting to get back into sky viewing. I haven't ever done astrophotography, and I'm not entirely sure how it works - but if I buy a new telescope that I can't attach my HX300 to, I'll be pretty disappointed. I don't even know how to start finding out compatibility....so does anyone have any advice on what I'm looking for? Thank you.
I was recently looking at buying a new pair of high quality binoculars to take with me on vacations and for occasional use wildlife spotting in the backyard. While browsing online I happened to come across 'superzoom' cameras such as the Panasonic Lumix FZ70(/72), Sony DSC-HX300B and Canon Powershot SX50-HS, and having now watched a few of the have-to-be-seen-to-be-believed superzoom demonstration videos on Youtube (such as this one ), I'm thinking I should scrap the binocular idea, leave my...
Not sure if this is the right place to post it I have a Sony Cybershot HX100V I looked at the newer HX300 which is almost basically what I already have but more MP and zoom and no GPS. The Android option would be nice but not required (and I am aware of the new Galaxy lens that is becoming available but it only offers 10x zoom at this point. Some might say I might not need more than 10x (and that may be true, most of the time I wouldn't) but if I'm going to buy a super zoom I want something...
Hi Everyone I recently bought a HX300 and enjoy taking pics with it. I saw some of the people using the HX100 and HX200 have Kiwifoto tubes with tele extenders and macro lenses. I saw there is a tube available for the HX300 and was wondering what brand of tele extenders and macro lenses people are using. Can the people with experience in bird photos like Aisse please help.
Seldom do I use a tripod, so I always have the Movie SteadyShot activated for my bird photography. Suspecting Active should be my choice over Standard, while trying to get best results at long zoom. That was Question One really - but does it also pertain to Photos? I'm assuming it does. though I wonder then why do Sony choose to call it "Movie SteadyShot" and not just "SteadyShot"? Now to Question Two (or is it really three?) -------------- today I wanted to use the tripod, and I've read...
Hi all. New to the forum - seems like a great place to get info. We have a very old digital camera, and it is time to upgrade. We are new to the all great features on the later cameras, and mostly want something to take pictures of grandkids, and for vacations. As long as I am doing it, though, I want to get this camera for a special occasion. I am traveling to Florida later this year to watch the launch of a spacecraft that I have been working on for several years. The observation area is...
Hi, I am in a process to buy a camera. My selected camera are HX50V and HX300 from Sony. As i know, the HX300 has a 50x zoom as th HX50V has a 30x zoom. I am interessted in the 50X zoom of the HX300, but i also like the features of the HX50V (GPS, wi-fi). But at the end the camera that will give me the better image and video quality will win. Is there anybody who went through this selection process ? Any comments on what should i be awared for my selection. The size of the the camera is not a...
